Richardo
Hey all, I'd like to record a ride with an action cam, and then edit that footage to include a "live" map of my route. Any tips on how to create something like that? I imagine the worst case scenario would be to have my phone doing a screen recording while it's on Google Maps in my backpack for the duration of the ride, and then I crop the screen recording, overlay it on the other footage, and sync it manually. Better than that would be an app that has its own recording and playback of a glowing dot following the route, and i could record that and slow it down to match the duration of the gopro footage. Thanks in advance for your input and effort to understand what I'm talking about. I'm dreaming of making an introduction to my city- or some neighborhoods in the city- for people to watch on Youtube. Tawpie
I think there's sort of a similar feature in GoPros. But I'm not sure it overlays the actual map. Check out @Mike Sacristan videos.
Bizra6ot
Relive for a real googlemaps style live map Also you can use the gpx file recorded on any gps tracker or eucworld and add it to a soft like Quick(gopro) or Virb(garmin) and it will make a racetrack overlay
Planemo
Anyone know if you can pull route data from eucw and feed it into relive? The relive animations look really cool!
fbhb
"Anyone know if you can pull route data from eucw and feed it into relive? Quoted from EUC World settings: "Relive.cc Connect your Relive.cc account and export activities from your tours. You will be able to create 3D movies, use interactive viewer and benefit from other Relive features. Connect with Relive" Hope that helps Edited November 12, 2021 by fbhb
Michael Vu
You can use Strava's "Flyby" feature to playback any recorded ride at any speed you want. Here's what I that looks like. https://labs.strava.com/flyby/viewer/#1798036495?c=9v67vyjs&z=D&t=1RWdvi

Richardo
I found some options, but nothing satisfying. I want play by play recreation of traveling in google maps. The garmin app can display a stencil outline, which is kind of crap. strava’s feature mentioned here is probably the best full app feature one can hope for I found this on github and it does what i want, but only comes with free map tiles and i haven't found any that look good. https://github.com/zdila/gpx-animator Maybe its not hard to get a gmaps api key and put it in there somehow. my latest avenue to be explored is to screen record an android phone while using an app that can spoof your location to the contents of a gpx file. Ill update the thread if i ever put in the work!

I'm gonna download Relive to my phone and try it Edit: just noticed on EUCW that underneath 'export to GPX' there is also an option to 'export to relive' but it's greyed out on all my tours. Is this something that isn't set up yet? Edit again...just read further back the thread (schoolboy error) and saw that there is indeed integration...will see if I can get it to work Edited November 13, 2021 by Planemo

I used the free version a few weeks but quickly got tired of the one song and the photo limitation so I started subscribing. I never use Relive to record my ride. I use EUC World because it gives me additional features. EUC World has integration with Relive. If you use the EUC World website to look at a recorded tour there is an option of "Export to Relive" that is super convenient after you've set up your Relive account details in the EUC World profile. Relive will have access to all of the photos and video that you record with your phone during your tour. It will place them on the route at the correct GPS coordinates. You can manually include other photos as long as they are saved somewhere on your phone. It's unfortunate that Relive doesn't let you build the video from your PC where you may feel more comfortable working with files and typing descriptions. Relive limits you to 60 seconds of imported video so you have to trim wisely. It will not let you use the same video twice, like if you want to select two shots from the same video. I have a Maxto M3 helmet camera. After a recent ride I copied all of my still photos to my phone before creating the Relive video. When Relive selected those photos to appear in my video, they were all placed at the wrong location in my Relive output video. This was just a few days ago and I haven't investigated further, but I'm guessing the clock in my helmet camera is different than my phone which caused the problem. Try to remember to take a photo at the beginning of each ride to set the scene when you later create the Relive video. Make sure your phone isn't in power saving mode when recording your tour because then the GPS only updates when your screen is on. You will end up with a tour recording like this: ---------- There are times when EUC World may stop recording your tour and start a new one. This could happen when you take a break for too long or power down the EUC. If this happens you will end up with multiple Tours in EUC World. Don't panic, just follow these steps: Export each tour from EUC World using the "Export to GPX" option. I recommend that you export them in chronological order and append "-1", "-2", etc. to each file that you export. Find a free website that will let you open an merge GPX files. I've been using the free website GPX Studio https://gpx.studio/ on my PC. In a pinch I've used a free Android app called Tracklia. GPX Studio will let you import your multiple GPX files and see them on a map. Make sure you import them in the order that you numbered them. If there was significant movement from the place one recording stopped and the next one started, Relive will draw a straight line between them. Sometimes this is not very obvious to the viewer so don't give up. If you load the files in the wrong order, it will be noticeable. Use GPX Studio to trim the route, like if you don't want people to see you drive back to your house, or you forgot to stop the recording before you got in the car. A note about leaving EUC World recording when driving your car home. Early in 2021 I had an issue when this happened and the data looked like I rode my EUC 60 MPH on the highway. This mistake doesn't happen anymore so I am guessing that my subconscious habits of turning off the EUC when loading it into the car have changed, or Sebastian has updated EUC World so it stops recording a tour when the EUC isn't actually spinning. On the toolbar of GPX Studio, pick the Export button and then check the box "Merge all Traces" before downloading the new GPX file. Now you can go to the Relive website or app and Import the new .GPX file. Note to power users: a .GPX file is just ASCII text in an XML format. You could merge it yourself if you had the patience. I considered it after trying a few websites before finding GPX Studio. ------- After you create a video in Relive, watch it carefully and look for photos that may be duplicated or out of order (probably your fault). If you are paying for Relive, you can go back and edit the photos, music, subtitles, etc. If you use the free version you may have to start over. If you want to redo a Relive video, it may not let you start over. You can trick it by uploading the GPX file a second time. When you are on the Relive browser page of your video, below the bottom right corner of the video there will be a link that says "View interactive route >". Clicking that link will open up a Google Earth style 3D satellite map of your route that you can zoom in to. You can also do this by adding /explore to any Relive link, like this one: https://www.relive.cc/view/vMq5WVQyy8O/explore If you want to share your Relive video I recommend that you download the video and then upload it to your YouTube account. Then you can share it on Facebook or other sites and it will embed a video player when those sites recognize the link. YouTube will provide some statistics on how often the video was watched and you can later update the description to include info like links when people ask "where was this video recorded?" I think it's only fair that I include a video I made with Relive. Please give me a thumbs up on YouTube if you learned anything from this post. I am fairly active on the EUC group on Facebook. I've been wanting to share my Relive tips with you guys for a while and I think this forum is a better place for long content. I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place for this thread or if someone has already started a better thread of Relive tips.
