EUCRookie Posted October 7, 2021 Share Posted October 7, 2021 Hi any idea why the KingSong KS 16X it taking over 12 hours to charge to 99% and the light is still "red" on the charger? supercurio Posted October 7, 2021 Share Posted October 7, 2021 (edited) The 16X comes with a 1.5A charger which is pretty slow, 8h is not enough to charge its battery capacity from lower state of charge. Rough math (with approximates specs) it's a 21 Ah pack. 21/1.5 is 14 hours. Concretely the cells are not discharged fully and the cells are not truly 3500 mAh anyway (in 6p configuration) so it will take less time. But 12h is not unreasonable when accounting for the end with balancing. What happens if you keep the charger connected? What do you see when connecting to an app? What is the reported battery voltage after it beeps three times (there is a lot of measurement error, so don't get worried if you see 84.5V or 84.8)? If the charger never ever turns green or the battery voltage never gets to 84V, something's wrong with the charger or possibly your batteries—ride the wheel to about 90%, borrow another charger and see what happens. If you're using EUC World, make sure the battery percentage calculation is set to 'standard', the fancy setting is showing an estimate of remaining range not the battery state of charge (I've read that, I don't know for a fact that it's computing remaining range but I do believe the fancy setting isn't battery percent state of charge).
