Popular Post Marty Backe
The Tour starts in under 3-weeks. We have 92-registered riders with space for plenty more. Join for 1-day or all 8-days. It's guaranteed to be an experience of a lifetime. Some of the best riding in the world, perfect weather, and an opportunity to meet new and old friends. This year we will be giving away over $5000 in merchandise during the PEVRA fundraising raffle. The grand prize is a brand new Gotway RS fully outfitted with all of the Clark Pads accessories. If you have nothing going on during the week of October 16th (thru the 23rd) consider joining the fun. Each day will see over 50 EUC riders experiencing the best riding that Southern California has to offer. People are joining from across the country so don't let distance stop you. There's nothing like being in a pack of 50+ riders cruising down the roads. It's a magical experience. RockyTop
I just spent an hour reviewing every ride. This is well done! All needed information is available in the above listed website. Easy to follow instructions. Know before you go. No, I won’t be there. I always have obligations the third full weekend of October.
AtlasP
Man those 8am meet times (except it looks like one at 2pm). (With travel times in SoCal at that time of day to the various spread-out locations means needing to be up/moving by like 6 am many of the days on what will be many people's vacation.) Clearly a product of demographics which simply don't apply to me: morning people, and/or people over a certain age (ahem/sorry Marty ;-) ), and/or the outdoorsy people who get up crazy early to go hiking/mountain biking/etc. Or maybe I'm just the freak who's a night owl and a self-employed person used to making my own hours. (That's fair.) With all those people on board, more power to you all and I'm sure it'll be a success and everyone will have a blast. But why not more daytime rides (personally I don't mind the heat for EUC riding; it's not EUC riding is anywhere near as physically demanding as hiking or mountain biking, and the breeze when riding over 25 mph is pretty mitigatory) and/or especially how about more evening/twilight rides? Just a thought. (Edit: to be clear on a couple things: I won't be able to make it due to other commitments [not related to start times] and I'm not trying to be negative, as I said I really do think it should be a success and everyone will have a blast, this is just me trying to understand the trend of early group rides as well as general advocacy for later group rides at these kinds of events.) This is the 3rd Tour. Nobody had problems attending the morning rides on the previous Tours. Or if they did they didn't sign up for the Tour Each ride starts at 9am. 8am is just a suggestion so that people have time to arrive, get ready, BS with the 40+ other people who are there, etc. This is a Tour for hardcore EUC enthusiasts. Each ride is between 45 and 80-miles. It'll be an accomplishment to wrap up each day before sunset, based on the previous 2 Tours. So in reality, 9am is kind of a late start
Mantraguy
One of these years! If you do a January tour at some point after the border re-opens, chances are slightly better... ;-)
Tawpie
Ahhhhh. Have fun, I'm jealous. Perhaps one of these years, but for now the mortgage banker remains very adamant that I keep my day job.

The Tour happens mid-October for a reason; it's the most temperate time of year for Southern California with zero chance of rain. The days are just long enough.

Yes, I know you've planned it the way you have for good reason! But I'm sure you get more good riding days there in January than I do up here in January! So my comment was purely selfish. ;-) Your EUC Tour is on my bucket list though - it would be a big deal for me to get down there but who knows, it just may happen eventually. Looking forward to watching all the videos for this year's event - have fun!

Registration is free and not even required (you can just show up) but doing so does help me a little in planning so I have a sense who is coming. It's the only thing I ask of people
