Weight msx84 vs msx100?

msx84v is 23.5kg

msx100v is lighter, around 21-22kg

msp is 25kg and RS is 27.x kg

That's odd. Even if the msx100 you listed is the 1230Wh, 1.5-2.5kg difference just for the 370Wh bump up to the msx84s 1600Wh battery isn't enough to explain the big weight difference. Hmm...

i don't know the exact weight of the 1230wh 100v msx but:

84v 1600wh is 6kg batteries only (50g each x 160 pcs)
100v 1230wh is 4.8kg (96 pcs)

so1.2kg of difference at least

A 21kg 100v wheel with an 18x3in tire sounds pretty awesome.

I'm only 65kg but I love to ride wide tires at low pressures. Nice and comfy. First thing I'd do with the msx is to waterproof the panels with silicone etc.

Also I'd like to max out the tire. If I find out that some 18x3.2in tire fits I'd use that. Whatever maxes out the space available.

I've got the option to buy an msx100-1230 for 750usd. Or an older msx84-1600 for 550usd.

msx84 has a lift speed of 70km/h and the msx100 is claimed to have 97km/h.

84v lift speed is about 77kph; more here:

84V 1600wh for sure.

1230wh is awfully small for a high-speed EUC, you'll be beeping after only ~15km of sustaining 55kph.

The 1230Wh is my most-used wheel simply because most of my trips tend to be 16 km or less.  This wheel has no problems cruising 60 kph for the entire trip with at least another 5 kph in reserve.  You simply cannot get 65 kph in such a light package as a new wheel these days, thus I will be riding this wheel into the ground, long after my "newer" wheels get sold.

i remember original 100v msx was around 92kmh but was a bit buffed in latest board and in 1845wh version, 97kmh is correct

84v msx should be around 78kmh

It wasn't buffed, they just screwed with the wheel diameter; if you use eucworld you will see that the old boards are pretty much spot on with GPS, whereas the newer MSP/RS boards (along with every other recently new Gotway) are fake-buffed to report speeds 7-9% faster than actual.

For fun: let's correct some of our favorite wheels to compare with the "correct" original 100v MSX:

104 kmh Sherman 1053 -6% = 97.76 kmh

106 kmh Monster Pro -9% = 96.46 kmh

Not so much faster than the "old" MSX.... Fun fact: The Nikola might be the last remaining still-produced Gotway that reports true speed.

i agree, but tbh not all the wheels are fake-buffed: EX (-8)  and M24pro are still wrong like you said but all the others are fine.

MSP/RS never reported something wrong, EXN had some early buffed boards but now it's fine at 96kmh

There are no 18x3.2” tires. But there are notable differences within different 18x3.0” tires. But more than that, many 2.75-14 and 80/90-14 motorcycle tires definitely take use of the whole space reserved for the tire on the MSX.

Yeah I will experiment with tires more later. Right now I'm happy to just have a usable msx. With the chaoyang h5102 I noticed I didn't want to ride the msx and that's not good. I'm excited to try those C113 and C137 tires (2.75-14). They look promising. Thanks for pointing out that 2.75-14 fit on many 18x3in wheels.
