New Begode "Hero" Suspension Wheel

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what's with the huge estimated price difference at ewheels and alienrides? Its $4100 on ewheels and $3000-3600 on alienrides. Is one of them just way off with their estimation or will they be sold at different prices?

Ewheels mentions their "improved" battery packs.  This might explain it.

  • Initial $100 deposit holding page
  • First shipment from factory expected by late October
  • Estimated release price ~$4,100
  • Tentative specifications:
    • Choice of 18″ street/knobby tire
    • 1,800Wh Samsung 21700 50E cells (our improved battery packs)
    • Suspension system, similar to the S18
    • Includes fitted CNC pedals

Didn't they have a shipment go up in flames before? Maybe they got scarred of letting Gotway send batteries lol. If they really are selling this wheel for $1100-500 more than the competition though I doubt anyone would buy it.

Aww, I was hoping this thing would use the C40 motor like the EX/ Monster Pro for absurd maximum torque. Instead it looks like an RS violated an S18 both in terms of looks and specs. As soon as I saw that video Marty did on it I knew it would either be this or the KS S20 for me so I hope the S20 is more impressive.

That said, I like the look much more than the usual plastic Gotway bulb. I'll even dare to call it an attractive wheel. It's like a mix of cyberpunk design with Soviet socialist-realism aesthetics and I'm all about that weirdness.

I think the word you’re looking for is brutalist. I really dig the look, the harsh lines are reminiscent of the cybertruck, another nice example of brutalism.

I’m not all that surprised by the price. I suspect the days of cheaper batteries are over, at least for the short term. I suspect all the new wheels coming out will have higher cost per wh than what we are used to. It’s just the reality of the current battery supply crunch.

Anyone else mildly annoyed by the increasingly militaristic names for EUCs?

Yep. It also seems a bit weird to militarise unicycles. What's next? Howitzer branded slippers?

From a marketing viewpoint it also doesn't work as searching for "Veteran Sherman" just brings up pages on WWII.

Another one! Somehow I get the impression Begode/Gotway/Extreme Bull are just flinging wheels (and brands) at the buyers and see what sticks.

As an observer it sure is entertaining. I assumed I would not be seeing a completely new design from gotway for a while after the EX, EXn and Monster pro but I was sure wrong. In comparison to Inmotion, Kingsong and Veteran the amount of wheels Gotway has been putting out is quite a spectacle to watch. They have put out more new models then all of the other brands combine.

Veteran wanted I assume to be compared to the ruggedness of a tank. And gotway is just copying veteran. As for the S20 is the military the only ones aloud to use eagles now?

Perfectly reasonable pricing since they need to take apart one S18 and one RS to assemble one Hero :)

I would think Eagle is more an American thing.

C38 is really strong though, MSP C38 is a beast.

Caution, military enthusiasts - don’t google ‘big Bertha’ :roflmao:

Saw this on Facebook, really needs to be screw-on caps or I can see them dangling open while riding and water splashing in there.

So while this wheel is interesting.

I find it hilarious they just kind of took things from other companies and combined it in this wheel. (Including using kuji for PR) All while removing the ONE thing people love begode wheels for.. their speed... Not that I consider this wheel slow by any means.

I am sure they will release a HS version at some point if it sells well.

So is that sort of exaggerated electric motor sound at the end a hint that they even ripped the sound wave feature off too?

Between this and the Commander even though that is a different brand. (wink wink). it looks like begode is focused on what others are doing this year.

Actually could be a good thing. Maybe it will up their quality game a bit.

A few points about this wheel:

  1. The ewheels.com price is much higher than others because they are using different cells that can handle higher discharge and charge currents than the standard cells that Gotway is shipping with.
  2. All the hardcore EUC jumpers use RS19 HT because its the only wheel with enough torque that they trust. They have been saying please make a RS19 HT with S18 suspension... This is exactly what gotway made. The KingSong S20 Eagle will hopefully match or beat this wheel (2 more days until we find out!!)
  3. Gotway is spewing BS when they claim the motor is 2800 watts. The new wheel uses the same batteries as the RS19 (and likely same motor), which are only capable of putting out 2,500 watts of continuous power. (24s4p 96 cells LG M50T 2100; 87.12v nominal; 29.1 amps continuous 87.12 * 29.1 = 2,535 watts continuous)
  4. I own a RS19 HT, S18,  V11, and mten3 (also had an EX.N and sold it). I ride my suspension wheels off road. I never use my S18 (not enough power). I mainly ride my V11 and occasionally I'll take the RS19 HT for a spin, but overall I hate Gotway and I will be avoiding their wheels unless they prove that they have massively upgraded their quality. My RS19 has so many small issues that annoy me like crazy. There are so many bad design decisions and it feels very lacking as a complete product. I'm also afraid to ride it on anything but a perfectly clean and dry street because dust and water get into the wheel easily and can cause it to short. I don't trust Gotway to make a quality product that actually makes sense. I already caught them lying about the power of their new wheel (to be fair KingSong lies about the power of the S18 which you can easily calculate with the battery cells)

Godway designs people:

Lets put the nose right next to the anus

I always thought people were designed by civil engineers? Isn't that why the sewer system is located smack dab in the middle of the recreation area?

Those charge port caps will make nice little water cups if they're not sealed.
