Popular Post lirva
Some first thoughts about V12. After riding MSP HT for almost two seasons, I thought to sell it out and get a V12. One of the key factor for trading was IPX ratings and better build quality. Maybe going from 18" to 16" is not so good, but we'll see. MSP has been great, but I wanted more commuter friendly wheel. I'm not a fast rider and mostly appreciate smooth ride and good amenities. V12 came from Voltride(Estonia), closest retailer we have here in Finland. They only got 2 V12's, so lucky me to receiving one. Quality out of the box is ok, I would say amazing, but there is something rattling inside the right side. I did had a V10, which I also sold earlier, so Inmotion app was already spying on my phone. Activation was pretty easy. Did basic settings and charged it up, slimed the tire and pumped it up and went for first ride. First the acceleration felt smooth and braking was a bit sluggish, but after getting more miles in, I would say that braking is ok. I 'we kept the pedals at the highest position so far. Turning feels a bit weird, it resist the turn and all of sudden turns a bit too much. I haven't had much issue with wobbles. Riding feel overall is close to 18" wheel. Probably for rookie rider (and me), lowering the pedals might be the best solution. There is good power for offroading, all the climbs it went up even more easier than MSP and no issues with heat so far, weather was around 16 degrees celsius and max temp was around 30c. Stock tyre is a bit slippery on muddy trails, but other than that it's good wheel for rides in trails also. High pedal position was maybe a few millimeter higher than MSP. Trolley is really sturdy. Light are great at dark, not blinding everyone like to Gotway dual lights. Automatic headlight functions is great, but it did turn off lights one time during my test ride at night. RGB lights could be a bit brighter. Kick stand is really sturdy. Stock charger feels high quality, it doesn't pop so loud when plugging it in like the gotway chargers. 2 amps could be better. I did confirm that it has same plug wiring as Gotway, so my 5 amp charger will charge V12 without issues. I can ride with one legged once again without tire rubbing. And in pouring rain Hope it survives, it's my only wheel now. @The Fat Unicyclist When do you sell body guards for V12? [you probably know this already, but you should first connect the charger to the outlet and only then to the wheel. This way there should be no discharge pop at all.]

In the specific case of the 16x, the owners manual says "Plug in the power source after inserting the charger plug, this can prevent potential risk to ensure a safer charger". I have no idea why they say this other than KS doesn't connect the charger pins directly to the battery as GW does or used to do. I also have no idea what IM does or recommends, but what is good for GW might not necessarily be applicable to other wheels. Odd, mine never did, neither did my LeaperKim charger or my YZPower Fast charger, butt they will pop in the wheel plug if not plugged into the outlet first. 12 hours ago, lirva said: Turning feels a bit weird, it resist the turn and all of sudden turns a bit too much. This is all about the tire, if you don't get used to it or don't like it just change tire. 😊👍

If you are unable to find a good knobby for your V12, the next best thing is the H666 (although more dual purpose) it's light years ahead of the standard tire & still available in 16x3"! lirva
My settings are now in Commuting mode with 60% pedal sensitivity. And 40% speeding with 50% braking. Off-road mode feels way too stiff for my liking. Can't tell for sure but accelerating feels more quicker at softer mode. I'm really starting to like this, V12 feels really nippy in 35km/h and turning/carving is spot on. No wobbles in braking. Next is trying to find good tire pressure. With low pressure it feels like 18" but i'm a bit worried that I ruin the rim when jumping curbs or puncture the tire. Any other V12 riders, what are your settings?
lirva
Bluetooth, Lights and screen died. Wheel went back to Voltride for repairs today.
omuretsu
Regarding knobby tires that were being talked about earlier, keep in mind on the V12 the built in kickstand folds to come into contact with the tire. With a street tire it's not a big deal if you forget to stow the kickstand (or if somehow it comes loose), but it could be catastrophic on a knobby tire since the kickstand can get caught inside the tire grooves and cause the tire to stop spinning.

That's quite a few failures at the same time. Was it water damage? I wonder if you got it back or are still waiting.

Their courier pick the wheel up when I asked for service which was nice. Others might ask you to ship the wheel to them at your own cost.
lirva
Wheel came back late November. New main board and screen was fitted. Front led strips where dead after this and wheel serial number is just 00000000, so can't give 10+ for Voltride service.
