Popular Post WillCO
Just wanted to say hi, and thanks for all the incredibly useful posts here. They've helped immensely whilst learning to ride a EUC! I'd rented a KS16X from a gent in Golden, CO to give it a try, and got hooked almost immediately. Picked up a lightly used S18 this weekend, and have managed to get in a couple three 8+ mile rides, only bailing once this afternoon trying to show off for my wife (insert sheepish grin here...) Really appreciate the "how-to" posts for mounting/dismounting.....thought I'd had my own "epiphany" when I discovered that mounting/starting was much easier when I looked ahead to where I wanted to go, only to find it's a well discussed topic here! Looking forward to learning more here! Will

It’s tougher at your age because you aren’t quite old enough to be dismissed out of hand as the crazy old man. But soldier on, you’ll get there! Have fun, and gear up! (adds to the mystique) edit: the first line didn’t come out right (senior moment)… I was recalling the wistful comment of some older friends when I turned 50. Now into my sixties, I understand that far away look in their eyes Edited August 16, 2021 by Tawpie

(adds to the mystique) Amazing how (most) of my off-road gear translated over. Had to pick up different knee protection as the big EVS braces I've got don't work well with the S18, otherwise, I'm looking like a motocross mummy out there 😁. Good thing too, here's my (literal) "oh s#1t" moment that I mentioned earlier. (with the word s#1t included for good measure)

If I am in a stressful situation [cars, crowds, etc...] I'll begin looking down at my feet when I want to start and then have to remind myself to look up. As soon as I look up everything goes...reasonably well. When I look down my technique goes to shit! Congrats on getting the S18. It looks like a sweet wheel. I'm glad the crash didn't result in an injury.
