Psychogenic
Hi all! Newbie here - just got my first wheel (Inmotion v10f) last week. It's been fantastic. I do have a concern though - the wheel has started kinda twitching, a couple times per second, whether it's moving or standing completely still (like leaning on a wall). I could only feel them through the handle at first but now the little twitches are visible on the wheel to a keen eye - seem to be getting stronger. Is this normal for an EUC? If not, how can I go about diagnosing it? Already ran diagnostics via inmotion app, all came through green. Recalibrated etc. Greatly appreciate any advice for this new but enthusiastic rider.
The Fat Unicyclist
If it is growing in intensity, then I would expect that you may have a hall effect sensor that is starting to fail... Are you able to make a video showing the problem?
Psychogenic
Yep - here's an 8 second video of my helmet resting on the activated wheel. You can see the light on the helmet jiggling. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2TrdpgmMNTJUKdBG7 Worth mentioning it's still pretty subtle, but trust is important on EUCs lol Edited August 11, 2021 by Psychogenic
RockyTop
Loose board? If it is slowly getting worse it could be slowly getting looser. The board has the level sensor. If the board is loose and moving, it struggles to find “level”
Psychogenic
What'd be the best way to diagnose and/or fix? Should I open it up? (if I open it up, do I need to re-waterproof it after?)

(if I open it up, do I need to re-waterproof it after?) Yes. And no. @RockyTop has the better solution (hopefully)... Remove the right side cover and you will see a second smaller cover over the motherboard. The motherboard cover has a rubber gasket which makes resealing it quite simple. Once you get to the motherboard, check that it is fitted tightly, with all the screws secure. If any are loose then @RockyTop was right... Tighten them and then power on to test. And then power off again to reassemble. But if it is all tight, then you should consider that my first thought was right and it's the hall sensors. If that is the case, you might want to consider discussing with your supplier. If that isn't possible, let us know and e can discuss more about what would be required...
Psychogenic
Will see what the supplier says - sent them some videos. If they're not helpful, will try removing the cover and inspecting as you suggest.
alcatraz
Don't know if this is relevant but when the wheel rests with the pedal against something, then I notice vibrations and twitches. When you lean it onto its sidepads it's always still. It's always been like that with both my V8's and my tesla. In windy conditions you can with pedal rested euc notice all kinds of wobbles (parked). I think it's just the motor that's between two magnets and kind of switching between them.
