Exn warning ⚠️

Jpd

Recommended Posts

I just received my exn from euco (updated version with black board)I took it out for a spin for the second time since Monday, total of ten miles on the wheel. On my way home the wheel cut out on me at 20 mph, no warning whatsoever.
after I got to the side of the road I was able to turn the wheel back on and ride it home, slowly.
needless to say I’m now at the er getting stitches :(

If you’ve just received your exn be very careful, I would not trust it.

Damn bro, thats rough ass news. I see you aint no stranger to wheels. I'm gna have to agree with @Daley1 on this one.....

Hopefully ya heal up nice and neat. At least chicks dig scars:thumbup:

Out of all the wheels I’ve ridden I’ve only ever had issues with Gotway wheels. I don’t think I’ll buy another one ever again!

There could be something to that, or maybe just luck of the draw. I do know that gaining trust in a wheel that has already betrayed you, is gna be tough. Even more so when it was damn near new. Ive had zero problems from my two Mtens, but i mean seriously, theres not much to go wrong. I so wish these euc companies would do some QC and burn-in testing. Here in USA, stitches would easily cost me near $1000usd.  I mean sh*t, how may wheels could have been tested prior to sale, for that bill alone? I fear this will keep happening, as accountability doesnt cross seas.

Keep us posted what you decide and how it gets handled. At least you patroned a reliable 3rd party, so you arent alone. We all know how great it is to have to rely on DIRECT problem resolution from the short people overseas.:roflmao:

I see what the problem was... YOu didnt have the correct power pads installed. It triggered the exploding headlight and emergency eject system. B) I bet you forgot to charge it outside near a water based fire extinguisher too...:eff04a58a6:

I live atop an underground spring. Send it this way, I'll charge it for you and send it back.

I kid you of course. Im sure this not only pisses you off, but makes it feel like a gut punch. You survived tho, aint there a club for that kinda thing? Sounds like a marvelous t-shirt idea. Keep your head(s) up, grab one of your TRUSTED wheels ,and try to forget all about the stitches and betrayal. We can't forget about the reward we get for taking these risks! Best of luck on the injury. Im gna assume it wasnt too bad, as you arent really focusing on that. Seems like the mental anguish is whats cooking your goose, to me.

*use discount code "gotway survivor" if you ever order some pads. I'll take pity on you and leave more $$ in the pocket for your next ER visit.:eff034a94a:

Thanks man!
yeah I’m lucky I didn’t get too messed up. Mostly pissed that a 3000.00 wheel only lasted for 10 miles, of course now it will probably be closer to a 4000.00 wheel. I really wanted to like the exn, it rides great (for a few miles) and I assume the range is pretty good as well.

I hate to add unconfirmed negativity to this but I still got my Telsa T3 problem.

Haven't contacted Euco yet because of Big Picture complications.

Maybe they won't send me back replacement wheel. Maybe put me on the infamous Back Order black hole.

I have a wheel to ride right now that don't trust ONE DAM INCH.

Shits busted and other shit dont work. But it rolls.

I still don't know if or how much it charges. Only outside charging. The brick gets so HOT a non welder person would say it can't be touched. I watch for smoke.

But ya hear the delay and Back Order horrors. Even whole ships sinking or burning.

Gotway sure needs some good PR right now.

AND IT SURE IN THE HELL AINT COMIN FROM ME!!!

I’m sure euco will make things right some way or another, I’ve bought several wheels from them with no issues. I was on the back order list for the exn for almost 4 months, it ridiculous right now.
unfortunately Gotway will be getting no good press from me either!

Unfortunate accident but to say it’s an “exn warning” is quite the stretch at this point in time. Sounds more like you got a possible lemon. This can happen on any wheel. Which is also why you shouldn’t fully trust any new wheel your purchase until your north of 200 miles on it. Taking it easy learning the wheels behavior in different circumstances etc…..

also look at your voltage chart that will tell the tale of happened more then any other stat posted from darkness bot.

Prior to riding Did you disable speed alarms in the begode app? Disable tilt back? Certain alarms have to be disabled for the first time on the begode app that will not be overridden in DarknessBot until you do it on the begode app. So you could have possibly hit tilt back and not been aware causing you to cutout.

The reason I say warning is because of several random cutouts from the new Gotway monster, ex and exn. These cutouts have been with close to full charge and correct voltage. I’m my case as you can see my average speed was only 14mph. I am a veteran rider with thousands of miles on many different wheels, all of which I have taken caution with when new. When the wheel cutout it had nothing to do with speed or alarms or anything else caused by the user.
This is a warning and that is the correct word to use.

Key word “new gotways” not just a specific wheel model….Again unfortunate accident but sounds more like a random lemon then a specific model issue.

This is unfortunate for sure.  I wish we had a safe way to break in these wheels, before just jumping on them.  Seems like EUC failures often happen in the first 20 miles, or after a wheel has been used and abused for some time.  This sounds similar to The Black Cobra's crash.

I was worried about this wheel from the get go, I even canceled it once and then changed my mind and uncancelled it.
I think it probably was the same issue as black cobras. It has to be a firmware issue or something because the wheel felt amazing up until the cutout. I was even impressed by the wiring inside, it was the neatest I’ve ever seen on a Gotway wheel.

Good reminder to shakedown any wheel that's new-to-you.

I like riding lumpy grass at 20mph. It shakes and rattles the EUC, and is soft to crash on. Climb grass hills to stress the electrical system. Don't ride the streets until it's survived at least 15 minutes of torture in the grass.

Wise for sure. I thought I would be good just cruising not really stressing it at all, wrong!
