bigor Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hi everybody, I am really happy with my Ninebot One. Using it for one month so far. Although it is winter time, I manage to ride it quite often. I have a question to those who are more experience then me. Do you clean you Ninebot and how?
Jag_Rip Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I clean my bot on the outside with a wet towel, inside I hosed it down with low pressure twice so far without any problems. As far as I recall the Quickstartguide of Ninebot states you should not use high pressured waterspray to clean the inside.
Tyred Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 @Jag_Rip Do you open your NBO before hosing it down or do you just turn it around and hose it like that? @bigor Like you, I've had my NBO for one month now and ride it every day. On rainy days some mud can splash up and I usually just use a sponge to clean the outside. Never really thought about further cleaning.
Jag_Rip Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I didnt open it, but I did it with the Bot standing on its wheel, I didnt lay it on the side or turned it upside down, so that the water can get out the same way it would during the rain. Inside of its sidepanels the bot has some horizontal fins and little chambers that store dust and dirt, this stuff gets out with the hose pretty good. But I guess if you will use it every day its not a bad thing to remove the sidepanels from time to time to clean them throughly.
Jdestef Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I do a complete teardown and clean the plastic and black frame arc by hand. Time consuming but never been cleaner!
Thumper0511 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I do a complete tear down once per month. Clean and check all connections for loseness or wear .... Takes about 40mins to strip, clean and rebuild once you've done it a few times. Just don't rush things ... I think it's worth the time each month to make sure it's in good condition as want to keep it running smoothly but more importantly minimise chance of unexpected fails.
