No1up
This is my first ever EUC. I think I set up the suspension and just practicing by a wall. It's smooth and quite going forward but makes a rumbling sound and feels like something is rubbing when breaking or going backwards.. is this normal? UniBlab
Doesn't sound normal to me....................Did you set up the suspension correctly? I like my pressures much higher than suggested in the manual.
OldFartRides
If you are rocking back and forth quickly, the motor will make a low rumble. High torque (steep grades) do that, with a vibration as well. Edited July 20, 2021 by OldFartRides
No1up
What would you recommend for a 220lb rider with about 10 to 15lb of gear.. maybe 20lb of gear. Just back and forth on my wall. Quickly but not far..
.....
Fender to tire clearance? Does it do it when you simply go one direction and not back and forth? DOes it do it when you trolley unloaded? Most wheels make a small 'grumble' when moving back and forth or near staitionary. Typically its just the gyros working the motor in tiny increments. It sounds like a small grumble or rattle, not quite a rubbing noise. Edited July 20, 2021 by ShanesPlanet
OldFartRides
There’s supposed to be a chart for that in the box. Mine didn’t have it. Someone posted it maybe in KS thread ? Im 170. I did 200/100 if I remember correctly.

I have an air compressor but I wouldn't want to over do it.
OldFartRides
Yeah that’s a shraeder (sp ?) valve on that pump, and if you unlock the ring, it’ll pump more volume per stroke. A valve stem extension makes it a whole lot easier to get pump connected to valve stem. Best,

Im just curious if its just the fender? Iirc the fender moves with the tire. You can always let all the air out of the tire and try again. WIth no air, the tire will be smaller and if its a minor rub, it may stop rubbing and you have your answer. If nothing changes, its obviously something else. Apologies, I dont own an s18, so I cant help much more than I already haven't.
No1up
Fixed it. It was on experienced mode. Put ot riding and it went away. On that note. Anyone want to buy a very new used for an hour s18? I got it to have fun and I'll be honest here... not a whole lot of fun.. like none at all.
Tawpie
wow. bummer. Are you certain? The learning curve is steep when you're starting out, but the reward is commensurate. Stick with it for a bit, get to where you can go and turn... I'd maybe be interested but I want a suspension wheel with more battery so I'm waiting for another year. If the price is can't miss though, I have my place in line, right???? Edited July 20, 2021 by Tawpie

Learning to ride a wheel is sometimes not as easy as people make it out to be. I found it to be challenging and I've a history of learning quite a few balance related activities. I found it fun to learn, but I'm also a fan of hard knocks and self punishment. I refused to believe I wouldnt learn it, and I practiced 30 minutes a day for a week or two, before I hardly had a grasp on it. If the wheel is working, I suspect youll find that most wheels will also be just as difficult in the initial learning curve. Your conviction to learn is more a factor than the wheel itself. Take a break, relax and remember that some things arent much fun until you figure it out. If you do decide to NOT ride eucs, also dont feel badly. There are NUMEROUS people who arent wanting to attack the learning curve and move on to other things. My first wheel had 3 miles on it when I bought it. Now, I wonder how that happened? I will say this... once you learn how to ride, the feeling and joy changes. Just as a lot of other activities, once you quit having to try so hard, a different type of fun ensues. Popular Post No1up
I think I'm getting it. 3ft no wall! It only took a beautiful jogger to get in my field of vision.. "look where you want to go" well it was very apparent where my brain wanted to go 🤣

One year later, I've gone through 4 wheels and thousands of kilometres, so don't give up. When it clicks, it should be a freeing experience, like it was for me.
