No1up
Ok, it should be here Monday. I open the box, then what?  Should I charge it? Do I need to add or remove something? Seen something about the earlier units having a block that needs removed? Should I do an inspection? What should I be looking at? I'm nervous!! Lol 😆 I think I broke my toe on my OW XR last night.. so I might just do some standing in place drills to get familiar.
Popular Post UniBlab
Dude! Ya killing me man!!!! I love it!!! Take a deep breath - everything is going to be fine!!! Yeah, It's ok to be nervous. It's part of the fun. Were you nervous the very first time when, you did something really fun? (Why am I thinking of girls right now....sorry...) Of course you were! That being said, if this is your first wheel then tell her to be patient with you, as you're not going to know what you are doing...(wait.....did I just say her? ..Sorry for that...) Ok, lot's of great tutorials both here and utube - watch watch read read and get a euc bodyguard from roll.nz (I got mine from ewheels.com) It kept my S18 shiny and scratch free much longer......I learned by holding on to a fence, at first, then realized my greatest strides by letting go of that crutch fence and going for it!!! Then I learned panic, bail, run technique. Not saying it's a good way to learn (it isn't) but keep at it, try not to over think it and have fun!!!! This was the stupid way I learned and it eventually worked - hahaha.........Good luck and keep us posted.....  Oh yeah, charge it, unlock it, pump up the shock, stand on it. You only use the block to charge the shock. Edited July 17, 2021 by UniBlab
Popular Post The Fat Unicyclist
@UniBlab has pretty much covered it... When you first power on, pair your phone - use either EUC World (Andriod) or DarknessBot (iOS). This will allow you to unlock your wheel (so that it balances)  While you are in the App, check the charge %. Most likely you will need to charge it. And give it a good full charge the first time, leaving the charger connected once it goes green to allow the BMS to balance the cells.  While you are charging, or after it is easier, sort out your shock - using the supplied block. King Song made their own video about this, which I recommend you follow... https://youtu.be/YOKnffShhT4.  Once that is all done, you are ready to start your ludicrous adventure!  @UniBlab also mentioned getting an EUC Bodyguard for your S18. I would also recommend that. Though I am a little biased (as Roll.nz manufactures them) so listen to him rather than me. Shipping is very quick at the moment, so if we were to ship you one on Monday, you would most likely have it by Thursday (unless this post jinxes that). And, if you use the promo code "FORUM5" when you order it, you can get a bit of a discount too. Popular Post Ek.
Seems a lot of us have just started our S18 adventures. I got mine last week from a retailer with excellent customer service so I didn't even have to pump the tyre. Just put some air in the suspension, hopped on and tried to hit the 10km mark before the rain set in. Felt pretty wobbly at first but now at 25km I'm starting to feel pretty confident. Especially with the Roll.nz bodyguard on so I'm not scared of over balancing when I lean the wrong way on a dismount. Got to get used to dismounting on my weak foot!
