Well you're entitled to your opinion but I think a lot would disagree.

Personally I'd say anyone promoting a race through the busy streets of New York and then uploading it for the world to see is doing the EUC community more harm than good.

EUC's polarise public opinion, a lot of the public view us as a nuisance and a danger - the last thing we need is some halfwit confirming their beliefs.

He kind of does when he is one of the main YouTube channels on the topic, one of the ones that is conversing with manufacturers. 
The whole reason that evX name keeps appearing is because when he releases videos or interacting with others much like everyone else here. They can be seen as an ambassador of sorts to the community since we such a niche community. So, one person or group will perceive us based on that interaction with us, because there not so many of us around. So, if you see us blasting through crowds, ignoring basic traffic rules, and acting carelessly around the city or towns then people will just perceive us as a nuisance. 
  
So, when Mickey and others act in a way that looks detrimental to the community, expect some backlash! He could of just gracefully took in the criticism, held his hand up and said OKAY, I hear you all and I will do better next time. Instead, he rattled sarcastic comments or insults one after another in response to any negative comment that came his way on the video, and well he just dug himself a hole from there. 

Between his last comments defending that video to the end, and that last video is enough to know what kind of guy he is.His videos were entertaining, I will give him that, he has some skill in bringing good content to us but do not get your knickers in a twist when there is some backlash and then throw your toys out the pram and pretend to leave. Take it in your stride, learn and move on. Or not, I am sure there be someone else to fill any void that he’s left.

Maybe in the UK. But that narrative is 100% false. 

The issues the public are having with PEV’s are ALL the rental PEVs. Ebikes, kick escooters and electric ripoffs of the Honda Elite 80. These new scooters are BIG! They’re fucking HUGE! NYC hates them. The New York Post can’t stop talking about these monstrosities. One of those companies is buried in lawsuits. 

If anything were to mess up the owner operated EV community it wont be one small one off video. It will be the dumb drunks renting those pevs. And riding their new rental with NO helmet and protection. They get into accidents, they kill people.

You want to protect your ride, hit up your city, your local pev/bike czar, and hammer them to send ALL rentable PEVs kicked out of your city. Those drunk inexperienced riders is what is tarnishing the good name sake of the entire EV community. I have already started my campaign.

Skeptikos came into this thread accusing  us of  “lashing” out at mick.  Laying a guilt trip on us, dismissing everyone’s concerns. According to him, our concerns don’t even qualify as “criticism.”  In other words, we are not allowed to voice concerns about mick’s videos, or whatever he doesn’t want us to.  We are the abusers. We are an angry, senseless cancel mob.

I challenged skeptikos to back up the disturbing claims because I’m sick of these attempts to distract from one of the most important issues EUC enthusiasts face. All of us who love EUC’s should want to protect this infant industry|hobby|movement|etc.

I asked skeptikos for just one example from over 300 messages in this thread of any abuse toward mick. Just one. How did he do?

He offered a huge passage that I wrote where mick was never even referenced a single time. That was his proof for his audacious claims.

He was given a fair chance to back up his words. Instead, he only to doubled down and added more unsubstantiated claims. 

He and sumako make the claim that we are the abusers here. I’m not having it. I ask them for specifics, trying to take them seriously. If there really is abuse of mick, We should know about it and stop it. That cannot be tolerated.  So, I’m asking for where this abuse is and get a response that isn’t even in the realm of seriousness.

I wasn't shocked because I know the movie and remember the comments under it.  Most of the people on the bridge are not residents of NYC, but tourists.

I wonder how they remembered the meeting with EUC?

To anyone defending Mickey because of that video: 

- He is not stopping making videos. Watch to the end. He is just trolling. 

- It is a fake apology and only towards his sponsors

- There is no remorse, he still thinks he is in the right. 

- There is no real threats towards him. He is just making it up. He has done it before.

- He is not saying what kind of language HE used when somebody commented about the kind of riding portrayed in the video. 

- He is not disclosing that anybody mentioning politely that this kind of riding is not okay was met with ridicule, insults and got called "soy-boy" and "bad rider"

- what people reacted to was large part to how Mickey behaves. He is *very unpolite* (edited to not insult him) towards fellow riders who just disagree with that kind of riding. This is on other channels beyond this forum.

There is no cancelling him or mob attack. What he did was irresponsible and everybody makes mistakes. That is not the problem. But when he got called out on posting illegal and irresponsible behaviour on youtube, he lashed out on commenters insulting them and trolling on various channels. The video he made is just trying to control the narrative and playing victim. 

There are many different discussions going on but the main issue is organising race among general public and then making video presenting irresponsible and illegal riding. It is absolutely okay to react to that and that is what people have done. His response has been just insults and childish behaviour. Same goes for Turbo and other NYC gang defending him.

I too like the way nyc riders fly on the streets, for the same reason, the feeling of freedom most of their videos have. 

But freedom and being rude is not the same, turbo was being rude, as did the guy you posted on the video overusing his horn, that I believe is kingsong jack.

I am not shocked I am disgusted that a YT post these to get cheap view ratings and start trolling a brands social channel when he is called out.

Now I can't said I know how it is to live in NYC. But the more you defend this type of behaviour the more I am glad it is not my place. If people think is okey to do wrongs because other do it, that is pathway to even worse situation and not helping anyone.

Now in my area we have people with dogs or on bikes in lycra and big experience cars that this they are above traffic laws but that does not make me run red light or lash out on them. But I try to endorse good behaviour with a 👍👎depending on their behaviour. In the last 2 weeks a lone I was run over by cars within 15cm because they didn't give right of way that traffic laws say they must. But in general I give out 👍90%of the time.

But I strongly suggest debating the anti-communist guy elsewhere.than this thread.

A EUC is a 30KG plastic thing that goes 40 kph at 40 cm from the ground. In case of a collision, it is mostly far from vital organs (head, upper body), it will break legs (already horrible I agree).

Let me then explain. I am using a saying (if you haven't heard it before in full, it goes: guns don't kill people; people kill people) which basically means that anyone who uses tools should be using them responsibly or should be held responsible for inapropriate use thereof. Banning the tool should be the last resort.

Now, I also believe that we often underestimate the potential consequences of an incident/accident involving an euc. If a rider loses control of "a  30 kg plastic thing that goes 40kph" it may easily lead to serious/critical injuries of passersby especially in crowded streets of big cities. Even if it continues "40 cm from the ground" it is not "far from vital organs" of a child/kneeling person/dog etc.. Also we more than often saw eucs travelling high above the ground due to hitting the curb after the crash.

Anyways. Wanna race? Take it to the track. Wanna make an action flick? Don't improvise it.

If police don't intervene when law is broken how many others will do it? Not by any means by you, but will it courage to break the law or other way around?
