GothamMike
THe Veterans Highway to Whiteface mountain just opened in the Adirondacks. About a 7 mile drive to the top 15 miles from Downtown Lake Placid. "The road rises 2300 feet in 5 miles" About a 9% incline, Will an EUC over heat ?
supercurio
Depends on which EUC, speed, weight of the rider... Essentially, power demand & efficiency vs cooling
Jia Liu
The wheel won't "burnout", it would tilt back when overheat, and you have to wait it to be cooled to ride again. Not sure about KS wheels, but I'm pretty sure MSP can handle it.
Popular Post .....
I'd imagine just about ANY wheel of 16" or larger and modern manufacture, could handle MY skinny ass up a hill like that. Maybe not at blistering speeds, but 2k' in 5 miles, doesnt sound like too much. Air up the tire, load up eucw and give it a go. Don't count on the wheel stopping itself from melting tho. Many tests have shown that boards can burn without stopping themselves. Just watch those temps. The hotter the day, the hotter the wheel.
drader
I just climbed about 1000 ft in 2 miles on my 84v Nik on a hot day. I am not light. The wheel overheated going both up and down a few times, which its never done before. It's possible my fan isn't working properly, so I'm planning to add a few fans and a switch and try again.
