Hi guys,

There was a strange thing last night,  my wheel was beeping when it was off and not connected/in charge.

My bluetooth was off on my phone so its not a euc world connection and beeps were not as fast as euc world connection.

5 slow beeps and when I powered on the wheel , 2 fast beeps and not turning on.

I pressed a second time on power button , and now its working normally.

What does it mean ?any idea guys?

It means UBER paranoid for sure! I recall mine doing an odd beep now and then. It hasnt done what you describe and it was long ago. I get a 'rogue' beep on my mten and 18L while in operation rarely. This doesn't make me feel all warm and cozy, for sure! Everything on mine seems to work as should, and I comb thru them and find nothing. So far I havent encountered a single operation failure, so there's always that. If you are handy and worried, there's no harm in routine maintenance and checking all connections and bolts and solder joints.  I really hope you can figure this out, or someone sheds light on the subject. I call it an electronics 'fart', just to make light of how it worries me. Anyone else have a clue? Is it even a thing, that electronics just do random crap now and then? What if its a beeper today but a gyro tomorrow? Damn, you woke my worry. I gotta go, I think I hear black helicopters...

This is indeed strange. What was the battery level at that time?

One possibility is of course that it tried to phone home to see if the wheel needs to be remotely locked, but failed to establish a connection... :P

(Yes, this was a joke. @ShanesPlanet, don’t worry, your 18(X?)L does not do that!)

Sure, they ALWAYS claim devices don't do that. Just like they say you neednt worry if the Helicopters are red and sound different than the black ones...

100% battery, wheel off and charger unplugged

I wonder if it could be a battery overvoltage warning. Next time you charge the wheel, I’d check the voltage you end up with.

it shows 84.5 v

What shows this number? An app or a (good) multi-meter ?

Because the battery cannot invent electricity it did not receive, check directly the voltage at the charger connector.

Then ?

84.5v looks a bit high (4.225/Cell).
It mostly possible to open the charger and lower the number (if not under warranty, to be done carefully)

My brothers 18XL reports 84.5V too (since year(s)) - no beeping, no troubles...

So here we are, back to possible moisture in the wheel - or in the switch :

Mine as well, exactly that. The 16S reports 67.5V.

Dont rely on EXACT battery figures. Voltage reporting and monitoring within the wheel is not exactly precise. I find the reported values on the apps and the wheel itself to be a little lower than my multimeter shows. In turn, people have reported a bit higher than they should. I would say that +/- 0.5v is to be expected. Cheap multimeters also have a myriad of tolerances. I'm by no means a battery and bms whizz, just merely observations...

Thought the ks18xl was well protected against rain, if just riding on wet surfaces induce moisture, its really disappointing..

Like I said anyways, Im not using the wheel during next two or three weeks.

What I can tell you for sure is my MCM5 was beeping all the time after falling in a lake.
On, off, the same, until I unplug the battery pack and let it dry at open air.

You can always blow compress air at the gas-station on switches with one of these, then flood with WD40.

EUC, only with helicopter, have no room for failure. Even planes can glide a bit, we cannot.
I am not sure not using the wheel during next two or three weeks is a good enough solution then.
Not that moisture won't disappears, but that you'll never know for sure. If moisture is in, the reason of it.
It wont fix itself.

I am not KS owner/specialist so I stop here.

I have both the 18L and 18XL and both report 84.5 when fully charged.
