c5flybyu Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 I've had it up to 37mph with no beeps and was wanting to know the estimated top speed. I understand that some light weights can get it up to 45 but I'm not looking to push it too hard as I'm at 185lbs. Quote
Planemo Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 I get around 40 to 41mph at full batt. I know others have seen 43. This is beep speed. Of course, they can be pushed faster before cutout but thats not my thing. 1 Quote

According to https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/13209-speed-reduction-graph-rider-info-needed/?do=findComment&comment=226677 the 100V MSX should beep with full battery at 69km/h and 53km/h at 10%. 69 km/h are ~42.8 mph. So getting beeps at 40-41 mph means lower battery charge %/voltage. Which is very feasable by normal voltage sag at these speeds! 13 hours ago, c5flybyu said: I understand that some light weights can get it up to 45 but I'm not looking to push it too hard as I'm at 185lbs. It's not (only) the weight determining the top speed - it's the burden asked from the wheel (incline, acceleration, air drag)! Of course burden raises with weight... So driving extremely balanced with super sliw acceleration on a flat road, crouched makes weight irrelevant in regard to top speed. Just slightly higher friction and maybe higher air attack surface are in effect. But normally this linked numbers given from GW (80% beep) are are a great indicator. Just remember to drive slower with lower battery and don't mix (too much) high speed with high accelerations/inclines/other burdens! 2 Quote
c5flybyu Posted May 7, 2021 Author Posted May 7, 2021 Thanks guys! Great info/advice from both of you. I was making sure I was safe with the assumption that the beeps would come at low 40's. Quote

c5flybyu Posted May 7, 2021 Author Posted May 7, 2021 Yes! I only did 37 because I was riding seated, crouched down, on a flat open road. I also have two speakers right by my ears with EUCW alarms set. Going over to a Derby track so I wanted to see if I can hit 40. Gearing up! Quote
EMA Posted May 7, 2021 Posted May 7, 2021 be carefull with stock buzzer, old style buzzer are not so loud at high speeds 1 Quote
