Afair here were luckily not too many wheels reported stolen? Personally i'd think about publicly announcing my wheel as stolen - imo i'd look in sales sites for it and try to find it? But honestly i did not spent too much thoughts on this topic... Let's collect some opinions/arguments!

We need a place for the vendors to check when people order a new charger. They can check the serial number to ensure it is not stolen. Make it easy so nobody complains. It makes sense that a stolen wheel will need a charger but..............  I don’t think that doing a background check on chargers is the answer. I am all for the stolen wheel section though. Back years ago many places in Florida had places in local newspapers for stolen bicycles.
Popular Post .....
I dunno, sounds like a big ole can of worms to me. I would think the forum would rather stay out of the mess it could make. I'm all for people making a posting in the 'for sale' section about it, or perhaps in general section. However, who's going to verify that a wheel is in fact STOLEN when someone posts about it? What about the 'stolen' complaints that wind up being 'borrowed' or 'found', yet we never get an update? Allotting a section for 'stolen' reports, seems like extra risk and effort for the forum in general. I'm not a mod, so its nothing to me and I assume zero liability for ANYTHING posted. However, is keeping up with a 'stolen' section, something any of you mods really want to do? Im still looking for my new Inmotion v12 that was stolen in January of 2021... I hate hearing about stolen shit. Luckily it seems to not be a HUGE problem in euc's yet. NYC doesnt count, as EVERYTHING gets stolen on that planet. I would think that maybe seeing if @seba could help in a private manner, Of course, he's got enough BS to wade thru as well, and asisting in stolen reports is liability for him as well. Sometimes people would LOVE to help, tho they simply cannot for lack of time. All just assumptions, but my opinion is.. No need for its own section and the liability contained within. If MY wheel was stolen, I'd watch ebay, here, facebook and the local craigslist. Hard to sell something if you dont advertise it. A simple screenshot of your euc with serial MAY be enough to get ebay and or paypal to help, if you notice a recently stolen euc is for sale. Even if you find a stolen euc, can you prove the current owner stole it? Maybe they purchased it unknowingly. Maybe an ex GF just thought it would be fun to report YOUR wheel stolen. Its just such a grey area to mcuk around in. Ask the police depratment how fun it is... Edited April 29, 2021 by ShanesPlanet
Roadpower
I've been thinking about this topic more recently in light of the other thread I posted. I don't believe that a BOTL tactic is practical, I think instead that this is a problem that can be more readily tackled by incorporation of tracking technologies that currently exist. The topic in that case then becomes one of how to go about it. On that front I not yet gathered the details to present, I'm just aware of their existence.
