A tale of two wheels. And my dilemma.

I thought this was kind of interesting. I waited till after the fact to comment, lest I interfere with the sale.

 Someone  posted two wheels for sale last week : An Mten3, and a 18l. They stated pictures were forthcoming, but none came. My question and another were left unanswered.

 The posts slipped to page two. I found the same two wheels listed on fleabay middle of last week. I was interested in both. However, I was a bit reluctant to bid because they didn’t follow up here even to say they were listed on eBay. Plus, they indicated they were selling because they were moving overseas. I messaged them through eBay to see if they would meet me halfway for pickup if I won the auctions, but they declined. No reason, just “no”. I had planned to negotiate a deposit and pay the balance in person.

 So tonight I watched the auctions end. The Mten3 was sniped at the last second for $590.00 + shipping. The 18l sold for $1200.00 (free shipping). They were asking $700.00 and $1500.00 respectively here.

So I hope it was all on the up n up, and the buyers end up happy with their wheels.

 I’d be curious if anyone here got either one. 
 I passed them by. I need more reassurances buying at a distance. That’s just me.

Now, can I live without a working wheel till I get mine fixed ? Hmmm....

Good call on paranoia. However, ebay completely favors the buyer and mitigates. If you pay with paypal and on ebay, you have a little bit of recourse. On the forum, it is buyer beware. Paypal may help and may not. I've had luck from established members here, but I would feel uneasy about any new members or people unwilling to verify information and answer questions. Don't fear, there will be more. Each cycle of new wheels, brings out some not so old ones to the auction house.
