Popular Post MKader17 Posted April 23, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 23, 2021 (edited) I received my KS 16X, got it all unpacked and when I went to put the boxes in the garage when two 30 A fuses fell on to the ground. I had not seen anywhere in the instructions referring to them and I searched the forums to no avail. I reached out to Ewheels and William confirmed these are just extra fuses. An excerpt from his email is below. "Those 2x 30A fuses are indeed just there as spares. We're working on getting King Song to label these as such to easily clarify for customers, but in the meantime we occasionally get this question. There's <1% chance of needing these fuses, so feel free to put them aside." I just wanted to add this thread to help anyone like me in the future that is searching the forum for an answer to this question. Edited April 23, 2021 by MKader17 6 Quote
Waulnut Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I threw mine away on accident from unboxing because I didn't know what they were Quote
Rywokast Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 well, it would be extremely obvious to anyone who has opened their wheel what they are for lol.... back in the early days it was much easier to blow a fuse and you could access them externally... actually you might be surprised to find that all KS and IM wheels use fuses, where no GW does.... one of the reasons gotway wheels are stronger is because obviously, being a fuse.. it is the weakest point in the board, so it will go before anything else.... on gotway, if you blow something, the board is toast.. though it will be more difficult to do so..... throw these out or keep them it doesnt matter, its a standard fuse that you can pick up anywhere for dirt cheap Quote

GoGeorgeGo Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I would assume it has something to do with whatever caused them to go to the new black boards. Mines still one of the greens. My buddys exns are being produced right now, they will have the new black boards. Will be interesting to see if the fuse is still there or not . Will be interesting to see if maybe there was some kind of feedback issue that may have been the cause of the thermal runaways, maybe the fuse is meant to prevent feedback from the board 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

But the 2700wh configuration is the largest gotway has ever released, i doubt its a coincidence that the monster pro also has a fuse (i believe) the 3600wh configuration which is just a ridiculous amount of batteries lol 1 Quote
