Why upgrade frontlight ?

I get lotsa light from the Default Sherman fornt light so why are ppl upgrading it?

For my riding of forest trails, fire roads and so-on, I found it threw a long way but didn't have much spill. This means I'd occasionally get a nasty surprise from low-hanging trees or potholes!

I tried lots of aliexpress lights but in the end I just opened the original light, put in some matte plastic (an old translucent film canister I cut to shape) to diffuse one of the beams, and added aluminium tape above and below the case where it protrudes and that has added enough beam spill for my needs.

The photo should show it — I've since trimmed that foil so it looks less 'home made'

Sometimes you need more light, better aiming of each beam, better visibility
