Kennedy Moore Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 (edited) I have a V8f and the bug has bitten I need range I need speed and I need it now lol..jokes aside should I wait for the new wheels to come out? I have my eye on a new gotway rs high speed but Sherman looks good. Will veteran be coming out with a new model anytime soon and what’s the realistic wait time for new batches? WI_Hedgehog Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Every year new models come out that are noticeably better than last year's models. So if tradition holds, another 4 weeks (about shipping time for some of us) and the new wheels will be out! (Or because of trade agreements and COVID nothing innovative will appear until Fall, who knows...) 2 Quote
mrelwood Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 If new models are coming out, it’s generally best to avoid the first batches anyway. So I would choose from the existing tried and true models, and read on the common issues to decide if they are worth the risk to you for each model. 3 Quote

Sieze the day and invest in something you can already know what to expect. Buy now and buy later. Just stay one or two cycles behind. Once you have a few wheels, it may become easier to stay behind. Of course, grass is always greener and marketing is a b**ch. The moment you begin to bond with a brand new release, someone is gna release another anyhow. The REAL trick is to get one and be content with it for a bit. Much easier said than done... Edited April 16, 2021 by ShanesPlanet 5 Quote
Scottie888 Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 IMO @ShanesPlanet is 110% correct. Carpe Diem is the phrase of the day. One can get back most anything but once today's gone, its gone baby gone! Sides, the Sherm's well proven with most of the bugs all worked out so its a pretty safe bet. If you can afford it, then just do it. Go for the RS or better yet, EX.N if you wanna bet on the hollow bore bearings being completely solved. Personally I'd go for the EX.N but then, my neck of the woods hardly rains (we get lots of white fluffy stuff instead but I digress). I hear Florida's not the desert Cali is so go Sherm to be abso safe. 2 Quote
Popular Post mike_bike_kite Posted April 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 19, 2021 Personally, I'd go with the Sherman. It's got the speed and range plus it's likely to last longer. The RS has the hollow motor bearings which fall apart in the rain. Gotway 100v batteries are also a potential fire risk. The EX has the same potential issues but add suspension with seals holding in 1200 psi (that wasn't a misprint) into the mix. The new Inmotion V12 is a potential wheel for you but we've heard little but rumours which means you'd be waiting months before knowing whether it's got any issues. Another cheaper option is to find an 84v MSX 1600 on Aliexpress - it has 30+mph and a good range for little money. The 100v Nikola plus shouldn't be ignored either. 5 Quote
