Popular Post EUC_Ali
I have been following the Sherman since its leaked photos. I purchased a 16X as I anticipated waiting a year or so for the product to mature. Before purchasing my Sherman, I wanted to make sure I bought the version with the 1cm ~1/2 inch peddle height increase as well as the updated motor rim/peddle hanger, and waterproof display... I call this Version 3, and ill explain below... V1: Original Sherman V2: Sherman with updated Firmware and better insulation and size of motor wires (after Marty Backe tested on Overheat Hill) V2.5: Updated motor rim and increased peddle height (but rim scraped the peddle hangers) V3: Waterproofed display, increased peddle height, and redesigned peddle hangers to prevent scraping. Many have had zero problems and others have had a few (from my findings online)... As an engineer who has a strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, the Sherman has only a few remaining issues that can be addressed... The limitation of charging at 8A: This could be increased as the batteries can handle it, but I understand the limitation as a safety concern and longevity of cells The roll cage: This could be better wrapped around the wheel to prevent clipping when going up/down sidewalks and other obstacle. (I plan on using a piece of soft wood and hammering mine to dent them in a bit... If it bothers me as much as others) Display screen: It is functional, but for a $3200 wheel, I feel this is a slap in the face... could have at least made the battery level a %. (but I don't anticipate using it often after I set my settings) Modular light connection port: This could be updated to a waterproof port similar to car/boating industry Lastly the motor wires should be insulated all the way back to the connection within the motor: The update on Marty's post has a good picture of this showing that it is limited due to the bearing... This is more for piece of mind, but so far I haven't seen anyone with this problem after the increase in wire size. Final Note: I would like this thread to be simple and comprehensive, so If I have missed out on any major design updates please comment. I don't want this to turn into a "I wish the Sherman had..." post but rather a simple update on design, mechanical, and electrical component innovations Edited April 15, 2021 by EUC_Ali Picture update

Popular Post null
Thank you for the recap. To add a couple of points: charge speed is actually 10A according to Veterans website, AFAIK the 8A number stems from a supposition in a Marty video, as well as a different video where the signal cable was mistaken for a charge cable. (Edit: apparently updated to 11A see post bellow) Also, there have been double pinned connectors arriving at some point, I know of one guy (French forum) who had on simple and one double. Random or a transition IDK, but it could be interesting to check newer Shermans for continuity on pin 1 to 2 and 4 to 5. (Double pin takes 8A per connector whereas single takes 5A (some people do 7 and 10 but that’s a different story) edit: regarding percentage: it’s annoying that even the battery symbol isn’t that representative, with 0% being 1 bar. A long press on <ok> goes into advanced mode which displays the Voltage, which is ultimately the better indicator. Popular Post Resko727
From the email eWheels just sent two days ago. Charging: The Sherman is equipped with a double input 4-wire connector, that supports up to 11A total. Veteran does not recommend charging above 11A. If you use the 8A rapid-charger in combination with the stock 5A charger, please make sure that the partial charging knob is set at 100%. Also the statement about the roll cage hitting stuff should be better with higher pedal model because that should move the bars up that 1/2 inch also.
DragonFZ
I ordered my Sherman in December and received it in January on the smoke container. I recently bent my rim on the left and right side and cracked in between the bents. Ordered parts to replace rim. eWheels is shipping me the new 60 mm rim and informed me I have to order the new pedal hangers. I didn't understand why, until I read this thread. I also have the new cover with black buttons waiting for me to install.

EUC_Ali
Attached are the updated motor rims. previous rim was 4cm wide, it is now 6 cm wide... 50% increase. Some have reported minor scraping when riding with one foot. Photo cred: @upbnsfrrfan Edited April 23, 2021 by EUC_Ali Spelling
EUC_Ali
Ewheels confirmed a modification was made to the shell to all 2021 models (V3 still) to protect the BMS from impact when landing on either side. For wheels that precede 2021 simply remove the plastic shown below on both panels. To keep it simple, place both panels side by side and remove the plastic on the left side of both panels when the inside is facing up (like the picture below). Do not try to mirror the cut onto the other panel (so don't flip the panel on top of the other one like a sandwich trying to align the bread lol) . The section that needs cut should be on the right side when mounting the panel back on the wheel. I hope I was clear in my steps, but if you are still confused, you can cut both sides if you mess up. Please refrain from asking questions as this is an updates only post.
