I should rephrase my previous post.  eVX made a sarcastic comment in a EUC youtubers chat that Jack created.  Marty apparently took the sarcastic comment out of context and tried to make it a thing.  Or so I gather from the comments in the NYC telegram chat.  

Apparently Jack has something else in the works next.  I wouldn't automatically assume that his leaving KS has anything to do with the S20.  Let's wait to see Kuji's review in a few weeks before letting panic set in.

Re: "[taken] out of context"--a troll being accidentally taken seriously is the fault of the troll for their dishonesty in communication, not the poor individual who innocently (if naively) doesn't understand trolls.

I would give KS and Jack the benefit of the doubt here. Neither are out there to scam anyone or make a quick buck. They are both heavily invested in the EUC community. KS knows full well the consequences if they don’t deliver the specs as outlined in the reveal. Similarly, Jack knowingly put his reputation on the line by being the spokesperson for the KS20 and his future endeavours in the PEV community will depend on the success of the S20 that he promoted.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Duff and myself were in a private chat room with other influencers one of which is Kuji, & in that room Duff weirdly asked if the "S20 was just vaporware." One other person expressed worry as well. I found this line of thinking to be odd, since Kingsong has a stellar rep. So to sarcastically make light of these comments I made my joke. My comment was an off-handed joke as if it was a 1940s news report. It is not unusual for testers/reviewers to be in a private chat room or forum to discuss what's coming out in tech. Sometimes certain things get leaked out despite everyone agreeing to keep the content private. So it was unfortunate that someone took a throw-away joke out of context and posted that comment in public. I'm not sure who it was or why they did this but it was a very unprofessional move. All evidence seems to point to Duff grabbing the comment and handing it to Marty Backe. Due to these unfortunate actions, this chat has been disbanded. Rest assured all the info we know about the S20 is still true and that also includes it still being 126 volts. I for one am still very excited about this wheel, all 126 volts and all! Can't wait to see Kuji's review coming soon.

I would be just as interested even if it were a 84V wheel. While I do not believe the rumors of it not being 126V, I’d rather have a very reliable 100V wheel than 126V experimental wheel. With the top speed limited anyway, there’s just no real benefits from higher voltage. Even the lift speed was announced to be the same as V12. 
 

But, in any case, if they announce 126V and only two weeks later change it, that tells me something is not right at the company. Inmotion is also not working properly at the moment. Both companies lost their marketing people within a year. Could be the pandemic messing them up.

As you may have heard there are some rumours being spread. When a private chat is screenshotted and taken out of context it becomes a very dangerous situation. I'm here to help clarify a few things that have been spreading. 

1. The King S20 Eagle is still 126V. There were NEVER any plans of making this 100v. 

2. The second rumour is that Kuji is going to get the S20 Eagle for review this week, this is also not true. I do not intend on using my good friend Kuji as a test dummy. When we are at that stage we will confidently send Kuji an S20 for video collaboration.  We will however be releasing content with actual product (not renders this month)

3.  Rumours of me leaving King Song, this is true. Without going into a lot of detail the simple fact is that I came back to China to help develop a product that EUC riders across the globe had been asking from the industry. Now that the major parts (at least from my perspective) is done, I have crossed this off my bucket list and will be moving onto bigger and better things. I am not leaving because of some "major faults" in the S20, in fact that would make me want to stay to help resolve it, I do not dodge issues, I take them head on.

We thought about that since, otherwise it would adapting the S20 to allow for 12A.

Just to mention it while @Jack King Song is still here, using a single powerfull charge plug would be nice to avoid too many things in parallel (pins and plugs)

The Neutrik powerCON TRUE1 TOP for example can take 16A at 220V on a single weatherproof, locking connector.

You could add a 4A charger, it should be cheaper than a 5A. There seem to be a jump in price when going over 500W. (ie 126V@5A)

On the other hand dual port means that a broken pin in a port doesn't make service needed before a ride.

Yes pins can break, but in the case of the Powercon it uses large flat contact surfaces that should be fairly strong. One could argue that the connector could break for mysterious reason, and a second is a safety, but then you can also double all the components because who knows..

To get back to paralleling things: if one of the parallel wires (or pins) break, the power transfer will continue working but with an overload on the remaining wires, and more risk of an actual accident than with single contact that either work or doesn’t. (From risk mitigation in 3D printing)

Anyhow, from someone who prefer travel with a single powerfull charger as that is his main use for rapid charging.. To each they own.

"Testing" a charger? The wheel is already in pre-sale and weeks to go on the market, and are still testing chargers? The message they are giving to potential buyers is that it is a wheel finished in a hurry, with the quality problems that this usually brings. These things make many of us wonder if we are interested in buyng it.

This question have been covered extensively a few pages back.
The alternative is that the constructor isn't as open to discuss the product on social media, which would, IMO, be a loss for us.

To me it is perfectly normal and expected to be testing components basically "all the time". A manufacturer never wants to get themselves into a single source of supply situation, so you're always looking for and testing many alternates. Always and forever. I bet the picture was only posted to provide some evidence to support the 126V spec, so I wouldn't read too much into the specifics.

Rumors sure are fun aren't they? Patience, not so much.

Specsheet said GX16-6. That's good for 10A if double-pinned, or 15A if triple-pinned. Pretty nice if they pin it up correctly.

(But I think 4p M50 cells shouldn't charge faster than 12A.)
