Anybody going to CES 2016 in Las Vegas in a few weeks? I went last year and its how I got introduced to the 2 wheel self balanced scooter which eventually led me to electric unicycles. I'm looking forward to trying out more personal transport devices there especially since self balancing devices are more popular now. I know Ninebot, Airwheel, Fastwheel, and Hoverboard Technologies will be there. Anybody else know who else in the electric unicycle world will be there? I would like to ride my electric uni up and down the Vegas strip with other uni riders during that week.

Riding a wheel is a trip on the strip. Not suggested unless you're proficient in crowded sidewalks and know how to deal with people stopping in front of you etc.Helluva way to see a lot of the casinos and attractions.I will be going with at least 2 wheels.Kingsong will be there.

I've ridden my wheel through downtown San Antonio where a lot of tourist go to see the riverwalk and the alamo. I've been fine there. Which two wheels are you going to ride on? And are you flying to Vegas? If so, how are you transporting your wheels? This is something I still need to figure out since all of the major airlines have banned "hoverboard" and any other lithium ion battery rideable device.

Yes, my understanding is that hoverboards are banned from CES 2016.  See this article: http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/9/9883006/ces-hoverboard-ban.  According to the article " The policy applies to "wheeled transport devices (with or without motors)" including "Segways, hoverboards, skateboards, uniwheels and all similar products" at any CES venue. There is a Segway exception for people with disabilities at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Sands/Venetian, and scooters and wheelchairs are available to rent at several venues. Barring the new hoverboard provision, these rules have already been in place for previous shows."

I am confused, so if they banned uniwheels how are the vendors going to present the unicycles? Or are they banned for visitors only?

The verge article is only half of it. Here is the official response CES emailed me after I registered:

Segways and Hoverboards

Wheeled transport devices (with or without motors) are not permitted at any CES venue. This includes Segways, hoverboards, skateboards, uniwheels and similar products. Exhibitors are permitted to demo such products within the confines of their exhibit space. Segways are permitted for ADA use only at the LVCC and Sands/Venetian. They are not permitted at any other venues for any purpose.

This rule has always been in place apparently they are just emphasizing it more with the popularity of the boards.

Well just did the search to see where and when.. Seen the note:  Not open to the general public.  I am in retail, but not sure if "Cotton Candy" would get me in the door.  My company name is Cotton Candy Dreams.  I guess that could be a Tech kind of name????   I don't think so.....

Well gave it a shot... I am a retailer, name tax # ext.  but $300 to get it the door?  Can't do that.

You just have to justify how you are in the electronics industry and it could be as simply as you using consumer electronics to do your business. I was able to get in for $100 but the price is going up closer to the event.

I'm still going to give it a try.  I do use electronics for sales and display. This show should be worth going to even if Kingsong wasn't there.   I'm just trying to be logical. The cost of the ticket, and the cost of the trip would come close to the price of a Kingsong.    It would be understandable if @tinawong would not be able to allow me a test ride. (insurance/CES rules..etc)   One could say it wold be more logical for me plan a trip to California to see what  @KaleOsaurusRex has is stock, or a trip to Florida and check out @Jason McNeil 's stock.

I think they would since I was able to test ride plenty of other personal transportation devices last year. However the physical space to test ride might not be enough depending on how much booth space kingsong and all the others reserved since we technically are not allowed to ride in the aisles and whatnot. But that didn't stop me and other people doing just that last year.

What would be ideal is if all of these companies could reserve a spot outside where we can have plenty of space to ride around and test out their wheels. And frankly, it could be as simple as meeting in a large open area on the Las Vegas strip at night. This would be very cool if we can somehow coordinate this to happen with other EU riders and EU companies.
