playdad
I was browsing EUCs in China and came across 2 wheels by another Chinese brand that looked remarkably familiar. I then realized they looked incredibly like the King Song wheels. This brand Aigo is pretty huge in China. I'm sure even some of you have come across it in various other electronics. Interesting that the wheel models use the letter K. 500W motors and supposed peaks are 2000 and 3000. 22km/h first warning, 25km/h second warning. 18 inch (K18) 520 WH Approx US$770 http://www.aigo.com/product-353.html 14 Inch (K14S) 264 WH Approx US$540 http://www.aigo.com/product-352.html Claim to be using LG batteries though the capacities are smaller than the typical KS variants. I swear the position of electronics and the looks all match up. Guess they are using the same OEM. What do you guys think?

In the case of the Aigo KS18 it is using the 500W motor based on the specs published on that page. Not good, much better to get the King Song 800w or even better the 1100w motor, also it uses a 520 wh battery, king song uses 680wh battery as their more common battery and up to 1360wh. I'm almost sure these are rebranded low-end KS wheel models, targeted at the Chinese market only. KS seems to be quite unpopular in China - it seems that there was some clash between KS and Gotway in KS' early days and many Chinese people complain about KS wheels being overpriced. Also, KS seems to be generally open to rebranding - www.milbay.com.au and www.futurewheels.nl are some examples (although futurewheels started mentioning the KS brand recently - guess the cheesy "KingSong" name became more widely recognised for its actual quality). Jason McNeil
King Song say they sell more units outside China than within it. This is apparently pretty exceptional: around this time last year, IPS claimed to have over 50 dedicated stores & AirWheel about 80. A fairly reliable source told me that in 2014-15 more than 80% of all Wheels were sold were within China! Many manufacturers have no problem with co-branding (e.g. 'sold by') but are not overly keen on the Milbay approach. There was a time where Neal was claiming that his 'Milbay' branded Wheels had their own special firmware & LifePo4 batteries. https://www.facebook.com/groups/ElectricUnicycle/permalink/793082547456377/
