I see this as positive a it specifically calls out a manufacturer that apparently utilizes poor quality batteries as opposed to a blanket ban on ALL hoverboards.

The pulling of Swagway from Amazon was initially spotted by Mashable, which eventually contacted the company about the matter.

Amazon told Mashable thru an e-mail that it sent out a notification to hoverboard vendors. Amazon requires Swagway to "provide documentation demonstrating that all hoverboards you list are compliant with applicable safety standards, including UN 38.3 (battery), UL 1642 (battery) and UL 60950-1 (charger)."

The company highlighted that it already met all the needed certifications. It added in that it is delighted that Amazon has taken steps to take "low quality boards" out of its site.

It went on to say that it is focusing on creating measures to assist its customers in spotting which of the hoverboards in the market are genuine products of Swagway and which of these are just sham.

It likewise directed purchasers to only buy from official sellers of the brand.

Though Swagway's products have been barred from the site, consumers can still pick from other hoverboard brands listed on the site, such as Jetson, Razor Hovertrax and Hover X.
