Mikkel Petersen Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Hi all, I've tried searching, but I couldn't find anyone else who has mentioned this. When I ride offroad, down stairs, or a very bumpy road, the rubber thing protecting the chargeport pops off. I'm afraid this couldn't happen during rain, and the v11 could be damaged. What have you guys done to keep the protective rubber in the chargeport? Or do you just not care? Quote

Interesting, i always assume mine is open because i rush and forget to close it on my way out the door. But perhaps it is jiggling loose on me. I will have to pay attention to this my next few rides and see if maybe it is popping off while riding and its not just my incompetence Quote
Mikkel Petersen Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Yeah, I think curb riding / stairs gets mine loose :/ Quote
Tony2k Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 This happens to mine too I tried some Velcro tape stuff but it didn’t stick to the rubber part plus it couldnt close fully with it on so I too am looking for a solution to this. Quote
Lesleigh Gonzales Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Hello Mikkel, Bummer to hear on the annoying charge port cover issue. We have had one unit that did that also. You could try a couple things: First would be to replace and try another one unfortunately.. Second would be to apply some tacky compound on the contact surface of the shell and the cover to make it harder to just fall out; Could use light adhesive but may not permanent. Third (crazy thought) would be to use a chemical since rubber is massively swollen by hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, xylene, etc). Not sure if the material for the cover will react, but some auto parts stores use something similar for oil pan main seals. I know that is a weird idea but hey, who knows. Fourth (slightly less crazy) you could apply mild heat using something like a hairdryer and "remold" to stretch some of the piece outward and once it cools it should be a slightly tighter fit. There are probably several ways to use this method. I cant personally recommend the last two for obvious reasons but if you wanted to try them for giggles if all else fails then I wish the best of luck. I know its hard to enjoy the ride when something even simple like this is an issue. 1 Quote
