no bluetooth connection

Just got my new E+ from Banggood tonight and was all excited but then found I couldn't connect to it with my phones using the app.  Is there like a pairing button on the Ninebot or something, if so I didn't see it?  You just turn it on right?  I've tried 3 different phones an LG G3, Iphone 5s, and 6s and none of them detect the Ninebot.  Would hate to return this.

Try other andorid mobiles. LG and Samsung has got bad history with Ninebot connectivity.

I've also used and Iphone 5s and Iphone 6s.  Still none of them can find the ninebot.  I guess I'll try an Ipad air later.  :(

ios are not as easy to connect as android phones for some reason. Or you might want to connect a few times.

I just tried my new Tronsmart mxiii tv box.  It doesn't see it either.  i even tried that bluetooth reset method after 17 beeps on the side too and still no luck.  it's starting to look like this new ninebot got out of the factory somehow with no bluetooth.  So there's no pairing button huh?  The ninebot app says look for a bluetooth light one the device and i don't see any.

Problem I had was it needed Bluetooth V4 and all my 'gadgets' were only up to V2.

Although I'd have thought your Iphones would be OK.

No indicator on the Ninebot, just need to have it turned on.  There should be an option to 'search' on the app somewhere (it was the bluetooth symbol in the middle of the screen on the original 'Ninedroid' app) and it should show up as a serial number on your screen (in case you've got more than one!).

I've only been able to use the Android app and it's been perfect on my cheap Chinese phone ;)

Another thought - I could only get my V1.2.2 unit to work with the old Ninedroid app, the Ninebot one couldn't see it - may be try a different app? - the new one is a lot prettier with the 'heads up' effect using the camera, the old one seemed to have more information in front of you but not as eye-catching.

Unfortunately looks like it's probably defective.  I've tried like 8 different devices both android and apple none can see it all are updated devices.  i've also tried the old and new apps.  The nandroid and ninebot 3 app, nandroid old version and newer version.  Both can't see it.  Anyone know if the bluetooth is embedded in the board itself or a separate module that can come loose?  If it's on the board and can't come loose then i'm not going to be riding this because i can't trust a board i know is faulty out of the box.  Back it goes.. gonna do some modding to my TG-T3 tonight to make myself feel better..:(

Unfortunately it's embedded on the board. Ask for a replacement unit or else return this defective Ninebot. Their quality control is deteriorating day by day. Maybe that is why they are selling these units for peanuts. Must be refurbished units.

That's really depressing to have a new toy and not get to use it right away.  Hopefully, they will just exchange it for you at the same price.  Not sure how shipping will go though...

That's what I'm thinking too.. either refurbished or might be a generic clone inside but labled as Ninebot since I was able to get it for 500.  Everything looks legit with lots of Ninebot numbers and labeling though.  One last ditch thing I decided to try just now is take out the battery and do a full reboot.  Like PC's there's still a little power going to the board even when you press the power button off.  So I unplugged the battery and pressed the power button to discharge all the remaining power.  Heard one beep and flash when i powered it back on with no battery so i know there was still some remaining power left on the board.  Plugged the battery back in hoping that would reset something so the bluetooth would come up but no luck.  Still the app can't detect it on two different devices.  Guess I'm sending it back.

Normally the app will start searching for the unit once the app is turned on or if not then you can search for it when pressing the bluetooth button in the middle of the app. This is the first issue with the bluetooth connection that i've heard of. Its sad since you haven't even used the unit.

I've done business with these guys (BangGood) for a couple years.  I don't believe they sent a refurb or clone.  They are pretty legit as far as companies go.  It's likely just a bad board.

On the iPhone app, it just searches for the NineBot, and if it does not find it, it asks to try again.  On the Android app, you press the Bluetooth button and it will show any NineBots around you.  I prefer the Android way of connecting because you can tell if the app even sees the NineBot.  I wish they would combine the Android and iPhone versions.  I like the gauge design, but I like the info on the iPhone version.

UPDATE:  The battery they are sending me to replace the bad one in my TG F3 is finally on it's way.

They'll probably charge me for shipping but I'm going to demand at least some kind of credits or coupons.  I've bought stuff from them before so I'm not a new customer.  They gotta at least give me store credit for my shipping.

Oh yeah and forgot to mention.. when I opened the battery cover to reset the battery I noticed that the battery pack had double sided tape on both ends yet the backing wasn't peeled off and so the battery was just rattling around in there or had the potential to just be loose in there.  Why put double sided tape on the pack and not stick it on?  Looks like someone rushed this unit.. I'd say pretty bad quality control on Ninebots part if this is a legit unit.  I thought getting a Ninebot would mean I don't have to worry about my cycle as much.. guess not...

Yeah I'm kinda dissapointed but whatever.. I still have my TG that works great.  Never had one incident with it, no face plants no shut offs, nothing.. It's been raining in my area these few days and the roads are wet so I wouldn't be riding the bot until it dried up anyway.

Ninebot ships the batteries that way and it is up to the user to fasten it safely. Hmm.. maybe that is also one of the reason why my Ninebot battery burned.

Up to the user to fasten it on for safety?  That's just so WTF and sErIOUslyyy??!  I would think if there was never anything wrong with the unit a user wouldn't even open it up to change the battery for several years.  If it was designed so that a battery pack should be taped on they should tape it on from the factory.  If it wasn't then they shouldn't put it on there in the first place.

Apparently, they designed it that way to make it easy to hot swap batteries (batteries on the go).

Can't hotswap a battery when you have to pry the light ring loose and unscrew the cover with a screwdriver.  Anyway hotswap means you can pull out the battery without turning down the unit.  Not sure if anyone should be doing that.  I can understand if it's like those other models where the pack is external and latches on... even then I would turn off the unit first then switch out the packs.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I've never used Banggood), but I've understood that it's a "market place" like Ebay, Amazon or Aliexpress, where different "stores" (sellers) sell their items, and the service (Banggood in this case) just handles the website, possibly money transfer/escrow and such...? So if you have good experience with one seller, it gives you no guarantee of the next.

Could be wrong, but I think the batteries are made by some subcontractor who slaps the tapes on the packs, but in the final assembly, for some reason, they've decided not to use the tape.

Actually, BangGood is an Online Storefront directly between you and the Manufacturer.  They don't have private parties selling items like the others do.  That's why I've had better success with them over AliExpress or Ebay.

On AliExpress, I've always gotten my money back, but I sometimes have to wait a month or longer to get it back.  Two of my worst experiences on AliExpress were with vendors that had 5 diamonds reputation.  Both lied to me over and over for months that they sent my items, even sending me fake tracking numbers, only to have them later admit it never shipped.  One took a month and a half to get $600 back and the other was over two months to get $305 back.  At least AliExpress does follow through for me.  Also, I confirmed with AliExpress that they never release the funds to the seller until I've verified receipt.  They also never give my Credit Card info to the Seller.

On Amazon, I rarely buy anything that isn't Amazon Prime, so I don't have any issues at all.  I even sent back an item the other day that was broken, and they gave me a refund even before I had shipped it back to them.  Pretty cool.

EDIT:  I also like that BangGood takes PayPal.  One more layer of protection. I ALWAYS pay BangGood with PayPal.  Plus, if you do have a return, your money is returned the same day it's approved.  If using a Credit Card, it can take up to a week or more for your Bank to clear the funds.

Ok, good to know :)  I've made several buys through Aliexpress lately (although pretty much all of them have been really small, averaging around 2-3€ each), and all the items I've received so far have worked just fine, except for a one led-light, that was replaced by the seller with a working unit (just picked it up from the post office today) for no extra cost. Still got about 70+ packets on the way :D  So far just good experiences, but my opinion would probably change pretty drastically if I got swindled by a EUC-seller for several hundreds...

I've ordered lots of electronics components from Aliexpress (the stuff is actually 5-10x cheaper than here in Finland, no kidding, although probably many of them may not be as hiqh quality, but for hobbyist purposes it doesn't really matter that much... all the parts I've ordered so far would have cost around 1500-2000€ in total here), but since usually one store only sells a pretty limited assortment of items, and as the I've only ordered from where the shipping is free, I've got some components there, others here, some others from a third place... leading to a total of over 100 separate packets :P  What's been funny (and actually a bit annoying) is that some them still sent the packets as registered mail, meaning I have to separately go get them from the post office several kilometers away in a direction I don't normally travel to, and sign them off, instead of them just appearing in my mailbox. The postal workers' strike lately didn't also help much, leading to at least a couple of weeks of delays before the flood gates opened (I've had 2-7 packets in my mailbox pretty much daily this week ;)).

I've also order a lot of stuff from AliExpress and had good success.  The main issues I've had are on the larger purchases.  And yes, BOTH of those large ones I mentioned were Self Balancing items.  One was a Hoverboard, and the other was the Gorilla Wheel.  I got the Hoverboard off Amazon later, but I have yet to find a good price for the Gorilla Wheel.

FWIW, I rode my wheel for a good month or so before I could connect anything to it due to not being as up-to-date with V4 bluetooth as I needed to be.  Didn't know any better then and didn't have any issues - in fact, in many ways, it would have kept me out of trouble if things had stayed that way as I wouldn't have fallen for the V1.2.9 upgrade :(

Anyone out there close enough for you to meet up with so you can try to connect to theirs (and they can try connecting to yours etc.)??  Obvious, and I'm sure you've already thought of it, but just in case :)

I don't know of any ninebotters near me but I just tried some friends mobiles which are very new and neither of their phones can see it so I'm sure it's faulty.  Regarding Banggoods support.  They're not even answering my emails.  I got one email from them after my initial complaint and they said sorry to hear you want to exchange and to send a photo of the SN sku and a video of the problem.  I did so and tried to keep the language simple but still nothing after 2 days so if they're not going to deal with me I'll just invoke the credit card purchase protection to dispute this transaction.
