The gyroscopic effect

Recommended Posts

Wow! This kid's size and weight in relation to the Begode RS effectively effect a gyroscopic stability that I can only have with my Ninebot One Z. Deep side leans... Sideway pendulum swinging... Godly stability... I thought I'd document this footage here.

My Z is aging, so I'm always on the look out for newer wheel alternatives, mods and techniques to increase or simulate the gyro effect. Maybe I'll strap on some weights to my ankles! For now, the next best thing is my KS-16X. I can lean into corners with the H-1557 tyre, but I have to counter-balance with my outside foot - I can't just throw my weight over. So I've ordered the CX321 tyre to increase the 16X' gyro effect. I weigh in at 68kg, but I'm 184cm. I'm relatively light but I have to squat and keep my hands close to my body when doing gyro based movements in order to decrease my lean force.

For now, a fun thing that I do when riding the 16X on bike trails with consecutive medium corners is to squat as low as comfortable, tuck my hands behind my waist, lean forward throw my shoulders to the side I wanna turn towards, rather than relying on my hips or legs as usual.

Get here soon, CX321 tyre!!
