ricolution Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 I recently replaced the inner tube of the v8 but after I reassemble it I realised the spin rotation has gone back to front! When the wheel spins freely, it spins in the back direction. While it's ridable I don't think it's that safe, since as the wheel lifts off the ground it will essential 'break' by spinning back rather than spins forwards to maintain the speed as travel. I put all the cable back the way it was and they don't seem to be able to be put back in any other way so not sure what went wrong there Please help! Quote
bracky72 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 The wheel doesn’t know it’s direction. When you lift it not competently level it chooses the direction to spin based on the orientation of your lift. 1 Quote
ricolution Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 oh good to know! I guess it must have been my dodgy tire then being overstretched, it's slightly in oval shape with the tube inflated rather than perfect circle, it must've caused the the weight to shift thus tilting the spin in one direction. thanks @bracky72 Quote

It might take a few tries and you might have to push down the high part of the tire when inflating but it might be possible. I bought a used 18L and the tire had this problem. I was new and did not notice the issue. When my speed increase to about 20kph i began to feel a bump with every turn of the wheel. It gets worse until you reach a faster speed and then it appears to go away. I took a close look at my tire and noticed the section of the tire that was not seated in the rim. I thought I had a defective tire since it was fairly new. I deflated the tire and reseated it into the rim. Upon re-inflating the tire it slipped out again. I repeated this process a few times. Each time I pushed on the tire at the high spot while adding air. It eventually seated perfectly but only on multiple tries. I do not think it was safe to ride in the long run in the condition it was originally in. 1 Quote
ricolution Posted October 17, 2020 Author Posted October 17, 2020 yea thanks mate, strange this can be a problem. I had to change the inner tube before a few times but nothing never happened to the tire. I have got a new tire but it just seems wrong when the motor sit within it having so much gap around: Does this look right to anyone? Quote
redsnapper Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 does not look like 16" tire! measure the tire diameter...compare inner diameter of sidewall with previous tire. looks like u got pranked! those luvable jokers at alixp got u with one of their gag tires! they sent me a tire that became a snake - as soon as i started riding it slithered off and i had to ride rt on the rim. very strange... they luv to clown arnd over there!
