EUC_Ali Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I am sure many of us can agree that it is time for a new model from Gotway and hopefully 2021 gets us one step closer to the "perfect" high performance wheel. For 3+ years now we have watched this performance company skimp out and innovate an old idea (MS(x)) where they should be Inventing a new Unicycle. I bought the KS16x after doing over 100 hours of research to make sure I got the perfect beginner wheel, and it did not disappoint. The design just makes sense. Batteries on the sides, controller on top, and plenty of additional features. Now that I am ready to buy a high performance wheel I keep finding myself disappointed and unfortunately might end up settling for something I don't love. What I think would really steal the market is a 100V KingSong wheel, but I am predicting we are 2-3 years away from that. A GOOD WHEEL IS A COMPLETE WHEEL. For example, something I could walk my dog with (hop up and down curbs/stairs), Go to work/run errands at 40+ Mph, and ride bike trails on the weekends with 50% charge remaining after 30+ miles of hard riding. I am just not ready to hand over $3k for a product that isn't engineered well, nor has all the feature that should be standard on these devices. Specs we(I) would like to see: ≤$3000 20" (>5.5" peddle clearance) 40+ mph 2500 - 3000 Watt Hollow Bore Motor 2800 - 3600 Wh (depending on motor) Tough shell (& very water/dust resistant) Magnesium handle (centralized!) Good headlight and taillight (V11 standard) LED lights (optional) Speaker (optional) App (optional) After reading this most people would probably say the Sherman is the closest EUC to this description, but the Sherman is not an off-road wheel, nor can you hop a curb due to it's roll bar sticking past the wheel; not to mention the lack of speaker, peddle clearance/tilting, lack of app, etc... I am not hating on this wheel because overall, it is a step in the right direction. It serves it's function as a bike path cruiser, but it is not the multi-functional wheel I was hoping for. Please share your thoughts and let me know if this is an unreasonable standard and why. What do you want to see in 2021? Quote
Unventor Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I don't think it matters much what you post here. GW have not been present on this forum to my knowledge nor have they listened must to customers in the past. 2 Quote

Wish Gotway would up their game in the shell department. The biggest thing that bothers me about the Monster is the tail light. I wish it was just red :/ much better and saver than the disco they've got going on now. 1 Quote

The new Monster Pro looks like it could be a "complete" wheel, but I really hope they updated the controller placement to the top allowing the packs to be evenly distributed for balance. How well can the Monster handle inclines/off-road/trials etc. ? 1 Quote

So I should be reaching out to Veteran? haha I feel like each company should have a "What you Want in a Wheel" thread for their customers... or just one big one with several Polls or a survey like... What size motor: 2000, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4000 What size Battery: 1800, 2200, 2600, 3200, 3600, 4000 Peddle height: 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7 System Voltage: 84, 100 Speakers: Yes, no Led: Yes, no handle, tire diameter, wheel thickness, etc. 1 Quote
GoGeorgeGo Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Honestly i want something is a totally different direction. I basically want a nikola+ with a saddle suspension. For me the wheel of my dreams is: 3000$ or less 35 mph cruising-40mph max speed 16" tire for the torque and acceleration Suspension system 100+ mile range traveling at 20-25 mph Built in redundancy with the BMS (similar to the new inmotiom system that can shut one pack down and run of the other, except im thinking 4 battery packs in this mythical dream wheel) I want something with great pickup and great range that wont bang up my knees. If your finger is dry, nothing happens. If your finger is sweaty, tiny tingle. (Please don't lick it...) 120VAC household mains power is 190V peak. Yes, touching that sucks. 2 Quote
null Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) I’ll take your word for it, glad to hear Last year I accidentally vaporized a bit of a plier on a kick scooter GX16 (48v) since then I’m wary. I realize it’s not the same conductivity but still scary. Edited September 25, 2020 by null 1 Quote

Thankfully, Gotway doesn't. 1 Quote

I think it helps with visibility from the side during those cloudy days or right as the sun sets. Its still bright enough outside where you don't need your main lights on, but some LEDs help you stand out a bit more. Edited September 28, 2020 by EUC_Ali Quote

Planemo Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 28 minutes ago, NickNonsense said: EUC World let's you set the tilt back over that. ....remembering that the tiltback speed isnt battery level dependant. So if you set it at 37mph or so (for a 100v msx) it wont even activate at 25% battery. Thats why I dont use tiltback, only the 80% beep. I am sure many people know this, I just wanted to make it clear in case someone relied on tiltback to save their ass at all battery percentages. 2 Quote

Does Darknessbot have a similar feature? and also I was hoping the 80% tilt back would adjust with voltage, which is what I was hoping for from the new models such as RS and Monster Pro Quote
