Popular Post M640x
Hello everyone. I've purchased stands for my EUC's in the past, thank you Duf. The thing is, I have to buy the correct size for the EUC and while some of them are universal, some aren't. So, I wanted to come up with a way to park my EUC's and not have to find the right size stand for it. Along with that I wanted a way to be able to have the EUC on it's stand and still be able to turn it on to adjust app settings, troubleshoot etc. I was out with the wife walking the dogs and saw a piece of 4x4 that my neighbor was throwing away which gave me an idea. The pics show what I came up with. I cut the 4x4 in half, did some measuring and drilled some holes all the way through. I bent some rebar and covered it in garden hose for protection. The rebar inserts into the holes in the 4x4 and bam, EUC parking. The setup is very stable. It's easy enough to move because the whole thing will come apart without tools. The sizing between the rebar pieces will depend on the size of your EUC's that you want to park there. I have different spacing at 8, 10, 12 and 14 inches. The final distance between the 4x4's is approx. 8 1/2". The bent rebar is approx. 20" tall. Here's the parts and pieces: (1) 12 foot piece of 4x4, free (8) pieces of 1/2" x 4' rebar, $57, I bought a couple extra in case I made a mistake bending them (1) 50 feet of 5/8" garden hose, $9 (1) 9/16" drill bit, $4 (1) Harbor Freight metal bender, $0 already owned Edited August 8, 2020 by Senior Coffee

M640x
Lol, thanks. At first I thought the green hose would look tacky but it grew on me pretty quick. I thought about using elec conduit but the rebar is a lot stronger. Edited August 8, 2020 by Senior Coffee
redsnapper
very creative use of rebar and garden hose!!! the issue is u cant bring the stand with u. if u know someone with 3d printer, get them to print u a little add on piece that clips/hot glues onto ur existing machines - there are many such designs on thingverse for various models. then u can stand ur machine wherever u go! although i see a strange unit there with no shell to clip something onto. what is that SBU with the seat? your rebar stand is very cool though - well done! SBU V3 by Focus Designs in Washington State. Has 2 pedals that fold down like a regular EUC. Lean forward to go forward, lean back to slow down/stop. Batts are shot but new it had a 12 mile range. There are vids on youtube.
Scottie888
Cheap, ingenious & functional. Good Stuff! I just use the cheap amazon bought guitar stands. Likely not as inexpensive as your rig but its buy & use. No assembly nor work involved - just the way I like it!
