When do you recharge? 40%, 20%, 10%

When do you recharge your Ninebot one? I have an e+. Should I wait to 10% to get the longest battery life? Am I risking shot off do to low power? If I recharges at 45% every time and the battery had I hypothetical 100 cycle life would I get 222 charge cycles? Doe it work something like this?  If not how does it?

i like to have a full battery but i try to charge it only when i know i wont have enough. If i have enough i only charge when almost completely discharged. This way, i hope i am saving on the number of future cycles. Perhaps its the wrong thing to do but it feels right instinctively.

I charge nightly since I dont recharge in the office. Theoretically I could go 2 days without charging, but now with temps dropping I dont want to carry my wheel halfway because the battery decided its too cold to hold a charge. And I ran into a slowdown due to low power already.

If the battery goes bad, all the more reason to get a bigger pack ^_^

I charge everytime I have the Bot back in the stable - generally about 70% to 80%.  I typically do not use all the charge for my short trips, but it is better to have a full charge than panic about low battery cutout.

Cheers,

Jim

With the type of batteries used in these it wont shorten or lengthen the lifespan to charge it when it's nearly full or wait for it to be nearly empty each time. Lithium batteries are generally best stored at around 40% charge so if you won't be using it for a long time (maybe the winter season) I would discharge it to about half before storing it. The charge cycle rating is for full discharges so using 50% of the battery, charging to full, and then using 50% of the battery and charging to full again would count as one cycle. I ride 4-8 miles a day and I'm finding I charge every other day on average.

Thank you Aaron Corsi that what I wanted to know. I thought so but really have not had time to go through http://batteryuniversity.com/ and read up on Lithium Ion batteries

I always like to start the trip full. Most of my trips end up running the battery down to the 40%-60% mark. However, don't want to have the battery sitting at 100% for a long time because that does shorten the life and total capacity. So usually I bring it home and leave it unplugged, then the next day I plug it in about an hour before leaving. That is usually plenty of time to get to a full charge, or close to it.
