Popular Post lirva
Maybe write down something from my new wheel, 2500w MSP from Ali shop. I've had it for couple of months now. And I have to say I really like the thing. I'm rocking it with EUC Bodyguard and without sidepads currently, also still the stock msuper pedals. I did order monster pedals with it, but Ali shop sended just one pedal. I did get the other pedal just last week, but haven't had time to fit it. I'm fine with the dihedral pedals, I like to pinch the wheel and feel the pedal angle helps with that. Otherwise pedals are way too small, offroading without power pads and tiny pedals I'm riding steeper hills on snail pace. But i'm slow rider so I don't care high speeds, more happy that the wheel can clime slowly anything I throw at it and don't overheat or explode. I've dropped the wheel few time's when descending way too steap mountain bike trails, no cutouts or other Issues yet. Littlebit scared of water getting in, but maybe i'll do some light conformal coating since I ride in rain and also in winter. I bought the wheel for commuting, Battery capasity is crazy when coming from V10. With V10 I commuted one way and had to charge, now I can go 3 days to and back from work without charging. Noisy charger is little annoying, but 3 amps it's way better than the older 1.5amp one. I'll keep updating the thread when I get more miles in.
Popular Post lirva
1000km update: I managed to mount monster pedals and got part of aluminium in my eye also, plz wear goggles when grinding pedals, don't be and idiot like me. I also removed the cover for 1000km cleaning and was really surprised that there was no deep scratches, or scratches at all. I have crashed the wheel in MTB trails 20+ of times and it looks like new. I can vouch for EUC bodyguard.. Also neoprene feels really nice when riding on shorts. Pedal floatines was removed by mrelwood doing precise calibration, wheel feels really nice now. Maybe one negative part is the random wobble I get. It's not big issue since I haven't crashed because of it but definately would love to get more balanced wheel next time. Original tyre looks like new still. I'm riding with 37psi (100kg rider). Water haven't been issue yet, handfull of rides on good downpour and no issues. I do cover the button and light cooling holes. Maybe next upgrade would be somesort of powerpads. Few times I have crashed riding downhill. when I discover that cannot brake enough and wheel just continues to accelerate and best option is just bail out. Pads might help The "torque" still give me smile to my face when bombing up trails.
Popular Post lirva
2000km update: Winter came, and I thought to put more grippier tyre (CST C-186) to the wheel, possible install studs also, but i'll see how it goes without. Project started by removing the bodyguard and to my surprise the wheel stills looks brand spanking new. Couple of handfulls of dirt where stuck inside the bodygyard, but no signs of water or dirt inside the wheel, and I have been riding it in all weather conditions. Left side pedal rod was stuck pretty nicely, but after 30 minutes of pounding with hammer, got it out. I removed the battery side cover and without disconnecting anything swapt the tyre. Fiddled everything back together and went for a test ride. Short video behind link -> https://photos.app.goo.gl/LQNrSJSrD9tU6akP7
lirva
Lirva and MSP survived the winter, maybe 5x crashes because of snow and ice, no studs on the tyre. Pretty shitty cold endurance on these LG 21700 cells. My usual 14km commute went from 85 to 10% in just 14km's. Weather was couple of degrees below 0.
