This wheel is planned to be a street cruiser/mile eater for me. At such a weight, I had no intention of making it into anything offroad, more than a leisure climb. So long as Veteran puts throttling or warning in it, that save the hardware, I can be okay with having to stop and rest on tough climbs. I can also be okay with not flying at speed up the mountain. Sustained higher speeds on a typical street with standard road inclines is my concern. I'd imagine the speed aids in cooling. Since the NYC boys are speed demons and some weigh more than I, my preorder is still safe. Exciting wheel with a likely chance I won't be upset. I honestly think that my plans for this wheel are within what they intended it to do. Hope springs eternal anyhow. Hey Veteran: Double check mine to see that it at least has the screws in it, that you designed it to hold. I did a sustained 6000+ foot climb with the Sherman, traveling between 20 and 25mph. If it's a road meant for cars then you don't have to think twice. And since you're a lightweight it's going to be even better (power, speed, and range). 2 hours ago, Shield said: What is the difference between the new and old motor? I hear there were changes. As soon as I get the LCD panel I'll push out my rebuild video and you'll see everything.

Maybe not yet, but I bet they will, once they realize just how many EUC's he's partially responsible for being purchased. Hell, Gotway should owe Marty at least 1-2 free mtens I bet.

The wheel works, but I then discovered that the LCD panel was also destroyed on Overheat Hill. I can ride the Sherman but cannot configure it or monitor the status. Tilt-back is stuck at 18-mph so the wheel isn't very usable. Waiting for a new LCD panel to be sent from Veteran. Have you tried connecting it to an iphone using darknessbot? It supports the sherman now, maybe you can adjust the tilt back to your desired speed

Getting the wheel to turn on in the first place would be the challenge.

The other 3 buttons on the LCD panel go to the LCD daughterboard, and that board is dead. So power button works, other buttons don't.

Jon Stern
I'm just listening to a DJ set from a friend of mine (one of the UK's biggest electronic dance music DJs) and he played a track by "Shermanology". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shermanology
Popular Post Marty Backe
It took 12-days to receive the new LCD Panel from Veteran but now I finally have the Sherman fully operational again. Took 5-1/2 weeks from when it burned up on Overheat Hill. Feels great to be riding this wheel again!

zege
Getting a little bit nervous seeing you riding the sherman without protection. So great that it is fully functional again! Feeling any difference with the new board and motor?

zege
Looks like it eats those hills pretty good. Looked quite steep from time to time too but it did not make that awful sound anymore? Did you feel any difference from before? I might be dreaming but didn’t it look a bit zippier aswell? The trail looked pretty rough, how comfortable was the ride? Many thanks for the great video Marty, so good to see you back on the Sherman!
