Huge hassle getting my money back.. (never again) What a drag, looks like I will start over to get this wheel, if I even want it now... It’s not like you can just go out to hire new euc firmware engineers lol or battery specialists. Gotway quality will suffer (even more) and I think the Monster Pro is the by-product of this. I wanted a Monster, issues delayed my purchase, and the result of reports is I won't be buying any Be-Goaty / Gotway products. While their renound lack of quality kept me from buying one they did drive the market to make faster wheels. I learned a lot from Gotway by them setting examples of "what not to do." I will soon own both wheels, but as a former Monster V3 owner I didn’t feel the increase in comfort was night and day over a Vet Sherman; and I surmise going to a 24 incher won’t change my mind. For the first 57 miles the Monster Pro (56.6 miles; 87.8v) was performing nearly the same as the Sherman (57 miles; 87.4v). Marty was hoping to hit 100 miles, but by all appearances the Monster Pro looked like it was going to be bested by the Sherman’s smaller battery. Things took an unexpected turn though on day two. About 20 miles into the ride, Marty noticed the Monster Pro (80.6 miles; 84v) was beginning to pull ahead of the Sherman (79 miles; 81.8v). The surprises didn’t stop there. Bad board or battery or whatever, from the start. But past that phase, not much that tends to break. Or can break. Hardly any wear and tear just from usage, unlike cars for example. So 6 months or 2 years warranty - probably no big difference for the seller. But it assures the buyers and is a nice unique selling point. Also, what mileage should it be? I can't make up a number that somehow makes more sense than any other number. 1000, 2000, 5000? It's just easier for everyone to not have a pointless mileage limitation. In NA at least, most have an auto of sorts & wheels are more recreational mix than pure commuter. Also its likely that many will have multiple wheels so mileage is again spread across the spectrum esp. for the big heavy cruiser Mpro. Who will take it to the corner store? Don't forget that a large portion of NA's population lives in the snow belt as well which will ground most PEVs for a few months at least. Regardless at most, I can see one putting on ave 2k miles & that's using it intensely. Which is nothing for autos which ave 12-15k miles/yr. My concern's what does the warranty cover & what limitations are there. Nonetheless its darn fine selling point so kudos to Alienrides! I was told its the latest revision with battery fuses, new control board, new bearing manufacturer,and controller completely covered up under the case. With my 66 kilograms, I had to adapt the monster pro with longer pedals and very wide power pads, moreover I roll with the right foot a lot more in the front than the left. So I install the right pad further to the front and the left further to the rear, as high as possible on the wheel. In addition, I calibrate the wheel with a small angle to the rear, with the normal driving mode (not hard). I get remarkable braking results, stronger acceleration, more stability and more comfort. All with minimal effort. To conclude, this wheel requires adaptation, driving much more with the knees than with the feet. The understanding that it is useless to lean forward to accelerate but to push the wheel backwards, and vice versa for braking.
