No announcement? :D

Good knobby offroad dual sport dirt mud (keywords) tire option for MSX / MSP / S18 * / V11 *
* correct rim size; may not clear the body.

This is also the original tire sold with the Veteran Sherman.

KENDA 042621434B0 TIRE K262 2.75-14 4PLY 2.75/100-14

Looks quite similar to CST C-186

Ordered one, standby for review...

K262 vs C-186:

  • K262 knobs are spaced slightly further apart (higher void ratio). More voids are good for loose surfaces and bad for pavement... but the difference is between the two seems marginal.
  • Slightly larger OD (sorry I don't have a virgin C-186 to measure... I recommend measuring rolling distance of 1 revolution)
  • K262 is just a tiny bit harder, 60 vs 58 via durometer-A

K262 vs H-5102 (original MSX tire):

  • Knobs! (duh)
  • Larger OD
  • (Similar hardness)

K262: Fits great, rides great, carving is still fun (my biggest concern).

I'm comfortable saying "it's just as good as C-186."

I rode both back-to-back on dirt, gravel, and asphalt and struggle to feel a difference.

Kenda K262 is great at very low pressure. I am 75 kg and ride the K262 2.75-17 on my monster at 20 psi.

Would be great if someone could confirm this fits the S18.  Most of the online info I've seen suggest knobby tires won't fit because of the very limited fender gap.

Interesting. I don’t find carving at all fun on the C-186. Also right turns require so much tilt that the pedals scrape easily.

Sorry, it won’t. The K262 (and C-186) are a good deal taller than the H-5102, and there is simply not enough room in any direction.

Different style preference perhaps?

(I'm the middle rider in the vid wearing grey, with my almost-square-profile 2000mi worn C-186)

Yes.

No! :)

It's different. I love carving with it, but some of my friends can't stand it.
Give it a try, MSuper's are so easy to change tires, no harm in going back to a street tire if you change your mind.

Just saw this thread. I didn't know ewheel selling it, and it took me awhile to find one. I ended up buying from https://www.bikebandit.com/tires-tubes/motorcycle-tires/kenda-k262-small-block-scooter-tire/p/63897 (choose rear). Installing onto MSP is straight forward, except the part of taking the wheel out, which is PIA. The tire scrapes the rear right shell a bit, I had to sand down the shell edge about 1mm. The hot weather and fire smoke prevent me from getting out more now, but I will try a 50/50 27 mile street trail ride next week.
