Hyperstar converts your SCT(Schmidt Cassegrain) F10 telescope to an F2 telescope. This reduces deep sky imaging times from 30 minutes (at F10) to about 30 seconds (at F2).

A Hyperstar compatible Celestron CPC HD 800 (uses GPS)

used on eBay in the $1500 price range:

To use the Hyperstar technology the Schmidt Cassegrain's telescope's secondary mirror is replaced with the hyperstar's lens assembly ($999):

After adding Hyperstar and a high quality imager to the existing SCT the cost of the Hyperstar/ccd implementation runs about $1200+ depending on your choice of ccd imager.
