We Have a Winner (tire) for my Nik+

The very same Chao Yang H-5167 is actually what 16X comes with now. It’s a great tire.

If you haven’t already, I’d give the soft mode a proper chance on the Nikola. After a few thousand kms on medium mode on my MSX, I finally decided to give soft mode a proper chance and left it on for a few hundred kms. The way it can be used to assist in braking and accelerating made me want to learn to overcome it’s weakness in riding up very steep inclines on loose soil.

I’ll try it. I just wish you didn’t have to press into it so hard to get it past 30 mph. At least on mine you really have to lean your entire weight forward kind of like you do taking off from the start if you want to go as quick as possible. For me that’s a little scary 30+ miles per hour.

if you think getting a 100V nikola over 30 mph is hard, you would definitely hate the monster. I personally think the Nikola is the easiest wheel i’ve owned to ride fast and that’s with the stock CST tire over 35 mph constantly. To each their own I suppose.

CYT tires are the best.. i love the compound they use the wheels just seem to absorb more road imperfections and just feel more cushy even while being at 50+ PSI.. my least favourite are kendas all the ones ive tried are harder than stone and i dont know if its coincidence or not but i have definitely had way more flats on kenda tires (never due to being pierced, always from being worn) which makes me think its their compound that wears the tubes down

It’s not even close to as easy as the 16X to get up to 30 mph and stay there. At least mine isn’t. You have to constantly press forward and hard to get there and stay there. It not bad getting to 30MPH just maintaining it or going faster. Also its just not as comfortable as king song in that area. Same thing with the 18XL much easier to get to and stay at 30 mph. I don’t really see how “to each their own” makes any sense when describing my statement. I didn’t say I didn’t like the wheel I just said you have to press harder to get to and maintain speed. You disagree with me?  I assure you if you rode my Nik+ you would have to press harder into it to get 35 mph then you would if you rode my 16X.  That’s not to each their own/opinion that’s just a scientific and engineering fact. Perhaps your Nik+ is different? I would have to try it to verify that.
