Once Information has been exposed, it cannot be unseen or taken back. There are a million serious reasons why someone wouldn't want their true identity information exposed to billions of people. Examples: -Maybe they work as an engineer on an intercontinental ballistic missile program -Maybe they are a judge who sentenced 1000's of violent criminals that are looking for revenge. -Maybe they won a 350 million Powerball lotto jackpot -Maybe they are juror #3 in a trial against the world's most notorious drug cartel leader ...you get the idea. There are many reasons why a person's Information might increase their or their family members' risk of being a target for fraud, spear phishing, harrassment, violent crimes, etc. Suppose someone working at your bank took the same approach to your perceived impropriety? "Well you defaulted on your car loan, so I am going to publish your name, ssn, and date of birth on the Internet to teach you a lesson about being financially irresponsible." Maybe you couldnt pay your bill because you suffered crippling injuries after being hit by an uninsured drunk driver. As someone else mentioned, as harmless as a piece of Information might appear, it might be the last piece of a puzzle that a hacker/criminal/stalker might need to identify/locate an individual who doesn't wish to be located or identified. In general.... I have been fairly quiet publicly in the cases that the community have had to deal with lately. That is not the same as we the moterator group not care or deal with different cases as they arise. I didn't know what or how moterator worked here on the forum until I were invited to this role. The reason for this is acturly how skilled moterator I think we have and how this forum is working. As for the cases that hit the public eye and what created this thread, I think most here would benafit that we see this as a lesson on all parties. Things has happened as things do in life. Always much easier to look back, not as easy to forecast things. Actions has been taken, that have been a balance of many different inputs. It is fairly rare that we as moterators have to deal with these things. But the users here comes from different cultures and countries and beliefs/opinions. Combine this with and intrest/hobby/passion ever borderline addiction... We could use the rest of our time discussing this, the things that happen and what could happen... But personally I think it is really time to move on. Lets get back to what this forum is all about EUCs and the sharing knowledge and expirearances.... The moterator group will at all times aim to do our best to help you as a users to have a great community and a place to build this. As a user I don't know where I should find the level of knowledge, info and fun stuff as here with my newly found lifestyle: EUC riding. As a moterator I am very proud to have been selected to give back to this community. I do see this as a resolved matter. Should you have any views other than this feel free to PM me. I will take any input you might have as feedback. I will not dicuss them though since I don't want to make it easier for those that have a harmful intent to this community or its users. It's got app developers, manufacturer representatives, store owners, and is very active with tons of smart, creative, and helpful people on here-- what more could an EUC enthusiast ask for? Regardless of what I think of what that person did, going over this again would just be for argument's sake and wouldn't benefit anyone, but would just be more "flogging" for the user in question, which I don't think is necessary.
