Bob Eisenman
https://amp.businessinsider.com/uranus-invisible-rings-glow-warm-first-time-new-images-2019-8 " Four decades after their discovery, the 13 mysterious rings around Uranus surprised astronomers again this summer. In June, new images captured their warm glow for the first time. Well, warm for Uranus. At -320 degrees Fahrenheit, the rings are 10 degrees warmer than the planet's surface, which is the coldest in our solar system. Scientists determined the rings' temperature thanks to these thermal images." https://arxiv.org/abs/1905.12566 Edited August 23, 2019 by Bob Eisenman
Bob Eisenman
Astronomy is fascinating..... I know little...the pictures portray science concepts learned long ago. My cell phone....a technologic advance not dreamt of in my college years in the 1970s can even image Jupiter in the summer sky....just above the horizon. Confirmed position with Star Walk 2 app @meepmeepmayerI decided to try using a telescope eyepiece to cell phone adapter (Meade product) to improve my through the eyepiece photography with my ETX90. (Moon & planets like Saturn and Jupiter) The FedEx tracking says it's in my state and on it's way. Bob Eisenman
The bracket for the telescope was delivered. Terrestrials were easy. Planets and moon later. Top center and top left are regular phone camera shots.
