Popular Post Rywokast Posted August 15, 2019 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 15, 2019 ok so ive been really busy and didnt get much chance to work on it, but i have the rest of the day free so its going together right now.. i decided to not be lazy and that the voltage meter looked cool enough to merit the extra effort so i went ahead and made a window for it.. i think it looks pretty nice,, before i assembled it i did my my usual excessive precautions and taped down every wire with electrical tape, separated and glued the power cable.. not only was it resting comfortably atop one of the capacitors, but it was also snugly tucked directly against the row of mosfets, crammed in there against them.. genius so anyways after all that i noticed when looking at pics that the ugly yellow paper on all of the foam was clearly visible through the shell so i painstakingly blacked all of that out and then put the shells back on.. this is what its looking like so far 6 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

meepmeepmayer Posted August 15, 2019 Share Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) 84V: 1600Wh (two 800Wh battery packs), 800Wh, 1300Wh (2x 650Wh), 650Wh, 2100Wh (2x 800Wh + 500Wh extra battery) - all available now 100V: 1845Wh (three 615Wh battery packs), 1230Wh (2x 615Wh) - all available now 126V: unknown, probably 1600Wh, possibly others - some time in the future, Gotway is "testing" the 126V Many dealers skip the less popular/mass market sizes and only sell the 1600Wh 84V and 1845Wh 100V. The Nikola will be the first 126-volt wheel made, unless Gotway is simultaneously working at 126-volt versions of their other wheels. I have seen it mentioned somewhere on Facebook that the Monster may also be getting the 126-volt treatment, but not sure how true that is! I did contact the guy who I bought my Z 10 from and asked him about the 126V version of the Nikola. He messaged Gotway and they told him it was just on paper right now. I have no idea if that’s true or not. I’m sure the people here know more about it. What do you guys know? Popular Post Rywokast Posted August 16, 2019 Author Popular Post Share Posted August 16, 2019 (edited) well first range test happened today, not the best time to do it haha was rather cold, at least it felt like it.. ~15C but the wind was 15-20 kph the whole time.. i wasnt taking it easy at all mainly through bike trails and on the road averaging 35-40 kph most of the time.. when i got back home it was at 10% standing still, im sure i could have gotten another 10 km easy if i wanted to but i didnt want to push it, though strangely enough i never actually heard it beep once throughout the 3 1/2 hours i was on it... i made it 109 km.. not too bad considering.. i know this wheel is definitely power hungry though it has major torque and i can literally hop on it in the middle of the steepest hill i could find and get going no problem, starts and stops on a dime too, impressive for how insanely heavy it is lol.. i also noticed it runs extremely cool.. i never saw it go over 37 degrees and mostly stayed around 35 and there were quite a few steep winding hills that i went over Edited August 16, 2019 by Rywokast 2 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How many hours did that take? well not mine haha.. ridiculously cool, I think I heard the fan come on once for like ten seconds lol.. idk I doubt I would have heard it 99% of the time,, my fan is pretty quiet.. yup one go first time on the wheel besides getting a feel for it for a few mins in the parking garage before hand lol, was riding the wheel for 3.5 hours solid but did a bit of sight seeing and exploring,, I was out for a total of four hours counting waiting for lights and stopping for a piss break and to get some snacks xD 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have parts that I can do at 18mph, but others I struggle to get 10mph yea it's not bad :-) I've done better but on a wheel that I had at least 1000 km experience on.. no nothing too crazy tonight haha my first time on it and first time ever riding anything with a 3" tire, was a little weird at first.. I did take it up the mountain which is nearly 1 km and pretty steep but it laughed at it whereas with the 18XL it was quite a struggle haha.. all my other wheels can do it np albeit slowly but I was expecting the nikola to be tough to convince at my weight but it easily has as much torque as a smaller 16" wheel for hills..
