Sweet M Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I began on an Airwheel X8. Experienced several cut outs with my own testing and, luckily, survived them all! My biggest, most scary cut out was experienced with just about 1/3 mile remaining at the end of an 8 mile ride and backward I went. Sent the X8 speeding forward about 50', down an embankment toward a creek. After getting off my rear and realizing I was still living, I crawled down a thorn infested bank to find my unit also still alive. Anyway, through those experiences, I learned what was important to me during my rides and took those things into consideration when deciding which upgraded wheel to buy. Since receiving my IPS T350+ about a month ago, I've thoroughly tested many parameters like rapid start/stop (although I know this is dangerous), speeding up quickly as to simulate crossing a street, slowing down quickly to sim coming up to a street corner or encountering a pothole or something, hill climbing/descending acceleration/deceleration, steep hill climbing, max speeds, carving back and forth, etc.....And to my, so far, extreme satisfaction everything has checked out great! The IPS T350+ is not a bells and whistles EU as far as aesthetics, but I have added a few things to spruce it up a little. It seems, according to my tests thus far, to be very smart and reliable, adjusting speed and warning feed backs according to current battery levels. Typically get a slow green light warning beep at 22 kph, rapid green light warning beep at 24 kph, and a sustained green light warning beep with more noticeable tilt back (not aggressive though) at 27 kph. These parameters lower slightly when the battery is at a low enough level to challenge remaining power. Also, if battery is low enough, rather accelerating quickly or simply trying to climb a hill, the beeps almost get skipped all together and the unit goes directly to a sustained red light beep and tilt back to alert the need to slow the unit down due to a lack of power to perform the current task.Anyway, needless to say, I'm a fan of the decision I made to purchase this particular IPS model. Cost shipped to my USA address was $818. Installed an APP that I graciously acquired on this forum to immediately unlock the 30 kph speed upgrade and am getting at least 16 miles on a single charge riding on a variable hill intensive course that I've mapped out in my city.
SlowMo Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 IPS is well known for safety and quality control. The brand is one of the most popular in China.
Jason McNeil Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I tried the 64cell T350+ for the first time at the IPS R&D center in Shanghai this week. You're quite right about the aesthetics, it's even bulkier & wider than the T350/T260 series. To me, the biggest failing of this model is the top heaviness of all those cells/batteries at the top of the Wheel, center of gravity is too high. Also of course the weight, +15kg is too much for most people.
Sweet M Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 I've actually had to carry my IPS T350+ about a mile due to my initial naive poor trip planning not considering the several factors that I've now, fortunately, learned from this forum and folks like you Jason. Thanks for all you've shared! Anyway, wasn't easy, but I made it! I weigh around 83 kg,am athletic, and as I've mentioned, several hills and varied speeds definitely factored in to the total distance achieved. It is a little heavier than I'd like and totally agree with your assessment (not that my opinion has near the credibility as yours......hahahaha). I've spruced mine up a little aesthetically, which a pic has been posted in the Mods section. I've added blue LEDs to the pedals which glow very nicely at night on the "undercarriage" and some reflector materials. Very inexpensive and no challenge to add these. The shape at the top of the unit also makes it easy to add a safety headband lights for increased rider visibility if desired. I also have purchased an easy to place/remove Bluetooth speaker (RuggedTec StrapSound Rugged Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker) from Amazon that adds great sound for my rides! Anyway, guess my point again is.................... My IPS T350+ is safe, smart, and dependable. And that's what seems to me to be of the utmost importance! Especially as I read many of the other worldwide experiences from our forum.
Jason McNeil Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 @Sweet M, you're too kind It's good they're responding to the demand for 64cells & value for money for what you paid is really very good.
RyGuy83 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Hey Sweet,Great review, boy am i glad i am realllly doing alot of research/homework on these EUC's. First i wanted an pretty mcuh in this order ....Airwheel/TG-T3/Monorover,Rockwheel,Ninebot... I have literally had my eye on one of these things for the past 4-5months now. Occasionally looking up as much info as i could. I realized you kinda "pay for what you get" with these, and i dont mind paying a high price for quality. I do plan on taking it on mostly hard packed hiking/walking trails and the street/blacktop. So i know i cant settle for something cheap. I narrowed it down to the Ninebot one E+(can get one for $850shipped w/legit 1yr warrant from u.s ninebot in cali) and was seriously about to whip out the card tonight. For some reason i just kept diggin for more info - Im very anal or whatever the word is like that, i tend to have to know EVERY SINGLE different company and what models they offer. Because itll eat me alive if i get a certain model home and the following week I find another one that was ALREADY out and i like better. Same goes for cars, computers, anything i buy. So i stumbled upon these IPS models(preferably the 350+ and Zero14"). I like the Zero14" alot bc it has a Replacable 260watt battey but with same motor pushing 30km speed. Im sure i could make do with the 260,i dont plan on going any farther than 10mi round trip, tops. Have you any experience with the Ninebot One E+'s? I thought they were the best, but boy was i surely mistaken(i always in the back of my mind never liked the gimmicky lights/look of it. I more about the simplistic "dont look over here" look, and the 350+ fits the bill, perfectly, the Zero not so much, but i think it looks better put together than the ninebots. I see your 350+ has been holding up very well with you,and also love how you can unlock 30km speeds with firmware update, thats 5 more than the ninebot and 2/3s the price. Still havent looked into how to do all the firmware stuff, but thatll come in time if i grab one of these, which really there isnt an "if" im just making sure i grab the right one,and i think this 350+ could be it. Im just looking for answers on its acceleration compared to the Nine and stuff like that. Thanks any recommended sites on where to buy the 350+ from would be much appreciated. I have found a site that does 1yr Warranty through their facility in shenzen, china selling them for $650+$168(express ship only avail option)=$818. Hmmm did i just realize maybe im on the same site you ordered from (euc.com?).lmaotry and get back to me asap,bc if this all adds up and you can vouch for this site,im ordering the second i see your response.. :-P Thanks man,~Ry
Sweet M Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 RyGuy83,As I've mentioned in another area of this forum, I have purchased 2 EUs from (electricunicycleonline.com) and, although customer service seems to be lacking in my experiences, my wheels are in great shape and run my IPS T350+ runs without issues. I, typically ride mine about 14-16 miles every Friday and Saturday morning throughout the hills, streets, and sidewalks of Tulsa. I, too am anal about things that I buy and am (without a doubt) certain that my IPS T350+ is the PERFECT wheel for me! Again, the IPS T350+ doesn't have bells and whistles, but I've added a few things like ground effect lights, headlight, reflectors, pads, etc to liven it up a little and provide visibility at night. I have learned so many things about EUs from the incredibly gracious folks here on the forum! I do not have any Ninebot experiences at all but feel like I have become pretty familiar due to ALL the posts about them on this forum. I have also recently discovered that a fella on here is from the same city as I (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and he had a Ninebot. I believe his was a 9E1. He loved it until he upgraded the firmware then BLAM! Down he went and it's been dead ever since. There are several reviews in the review section re: Ninebot's 1E+, notably by "DangerousDick" and "Thumper0511" in the section below on page 2 I believe.Anyway Ry, I'm more than happy to assist you with any IPS T350+ questions you may have! It's a great combo of quality and affordability! There's also the availability to upgrade to the 30kph immediately through this forum. (I can help with that also, although you can prolly figure it out on your own as well......LOL) Home General Forums Reviews & Impressions My new Ninebot One E+

Im sure you know how it feels days/moments before your ordering and need some answers to your questions. So i appreciate that very much.Yea i literally came right into this "review" section from a googe link(googled ips350) and just read this page only. Then immediately made an account to interact with you guys and ask questions. My bad,if i wasnt so jittery and just calmed down and searched/browsed this forum i would have found in fact that you have ordered from euc.com(dont i feel dumb, haha). Yea its prob hard communicating with another country for c.s.(or they prob play the game like that in certain situations)but they seem legit.I appreciate that link to the Ninebot reviews(its actually what i wound up finding/reading right after i wrote you that I.M.). Also thanks to you as well i read about this 30km firmware update. Pretty cool. I kinda drifted off to another page when reading this thread before,so did you ever try that "wheel update" it was supposedly like only showing up on your IOS firmware? I remember you saying that IPS didnt even know about it and that you didnt wanna have try it and have a possible 'brick' outcome . Any news/update on that. Been up allllll night over this euc stuff, gotta catchup on sleep now. thanks for eveything, ~Ry
Sweet M Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Ry,Just to be clear......and I know it takes a little time to learn the terminology (at least it did for me.....hahaha), the 30 kph speed upgrade is a software thing vs firmware and that is totally controlled through the XIMA app. Still have not upgraded my firmware and will likely NOT! Or at least until I discover it's TOTALLY safe and beneficial to do so! My current firmware version is 4.31, which is what your wheel will come with if ya get the T350+. This version is just fine and I see no reason to risk changing things at this time!Again....holler anytime! Nighty-night or I guess now as you read this...good morning (or maybe afternoon.......LOL)
Mikey Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Sweet M, I just bought myself an IPS 121 which i believe is the same as the T350? how did you upgrade the software to unlock the 30kph speed?
Sweet M Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 You're correct Mikey, the IPS 121 is the same as the T350. However, the 121/T350 is not the same as the 121+/T350+. Guessing you have the + version?
Susanne Pasewalk Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 The IPS T-Series is out quite some time totalling more than 10k units sales for the T-series. It's electronics are in 4th generation. About half a year ago IPS unlocked higher speeds for this series (as well as the Xima Lhotz). Interestingly, IPS also completely changed the driving algorithm with the higher speeds. The old T-series from last year all drive relatively soft - just as the Solowheels. Paired with the strong motor this allowed a very joyful riding. The current driving control is very hard - suitable for high-speeds. IPS will also feature different driving modes later. But it cannot be guaranteed that all current models out there can upgrade due to some bluetooth module changes and their new app (Zero vs. Xima apps).
spikes2020 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Thanks for the awesome review as i got the T260+ and i agree with everything in here~
