Hi all. My wife and I are taking a train, and therefore our wheels, to Budapest, Hungary in 1 - 2 weeks from now. I've searched in the past, and tried getting a response regarding the policy and practice of EUC's from within the group/meetup section of the forum, but till now no success.

Any assistance would be grateful.

Hi,

Avoid pavements in 1st and 5th districts as they are banned there(all electric scooters, segways etc... too many tourists jumping in your way).As for now there are no general rule for them in Hungary. They are not counted as vehicles like the bicycle, so the roads can be questionable. You can probably slip away using them on the side of the road (1m) like a bicycle, but you need bike lights(put them on your helmet) and a hand operated brake(this is the trickier part). High visibility vest is recommended for survivalbility and for any problem occure this will show them you did everything to be seen. Bike lanes are for cyclist but a monowheel can get past them. Road rage is usual in the summer season in the Heat, so bring an iced coffe with you and offer them the refresment and to talk it over. The police is your friend!

Other District and cities in Hungary not yet have anything I know. Usual hate goes towards segways and huge electric scooters "endangering the pram towing young mothers on the "in Budapest, so a monowheel is still a new thing and more amazing than annoying factors are there.

Cheers,

Richard
