Realityshift
Hey guys!First post :]! Been researching these wheels very heavily for the past month. I've never ridden but this sort of thing is right up my alley for something I love. I'm getting closer to being ready to make my first purchase. However, I'm scared to buy one as I'm scared I'm going to get a ripoff. Is there a compiled list of trusted sources? The most I have seen is Googling something like "Buy Gotway 14" and checking a few links.Secondly, I've pretty much picked 3 wheels I'm interested in but having a hard time choosing between them. My choices are:Gotway 14King Song 14IPS Some ModelI'm interested in one of the faster models (hence these 3 options). I do like the fact that King Song doesn't have the BMS issues that early Gotway's have (haven't read if IPS fixed this too?). Does anybody have any advice on which they would think is the best first wheel out of those 3 :]? Thanks in advance,Realityshift
Tom
Depends what country you are from? There are a few resellers on this forum but your country will make a difference to where is best to buy from.

Casey
I just got my King Song 14(c), 800 watt, 680wh battery. ElectricUnicycleReviews.com and King Song need to get their shipping bugs worked out, but I got my wheel and it works. I can't compare the KS to the other two, but I really like it. After four days I am already beeping and waiting on the Chinese National Holiday to be over so that Tina can send out the code to bump up top speed from 20 to 25 kph. Getting on the wheel still sucks, but riding is really cool. Tape up your machine with gaffers tape or similar so that it looks have way decent once you get past the first few days. Kevin
I don't know which IPS model you are looking at but here is a comparison of IPS XIMA Lhotz (16") and King Song 14" 500W 340Wh:IPS is available on ebay and amazon from 'IPS Official Store' (shipping from China) and sometimes from other sellers shipping locally. Gotway there's a few people around who can supply them (Kevin Lee and one or two others on the Facebook group are known sellers), and King Song is available as mentioned above from electricunicyclereviews.com. Realityshift
Hmm, the more I read about the King Song, the more I'm leaning on that one for my first purchase. :]Ok, the more I've been reading and researching I'm becoming unsure again because of the price differences. Here are a few things about my location and use:Must have good speedLooking for ~15-18mph (~30km/h)To and from work around 1-1.5miles per dayCity environment -> Some big sidewalk bumps and grass/dirt/gravel terrainUp north (will have snow and riding in it would be a plus)I think I would prefer 14" wheels? Here are the wheels I'm debating: http://www.electricunicycleonline.com/ips-i130-30km-h-130wh-electric-unicycle.html (con: Not sure? I feel this looks too cheap to not have something wrong?)http://www.electricunicycleonline.com/ips-zero-14-inch-30km-h-260wh-electric-unicycle.html (con: Low frame may make dirt/gravel/snow not as good of an idea? Not sure how hard these are too clean)https://www.electricunicyclereviews.com/s/advanced-electric-unicycles/king-song-14-174wh.html (con: Price and range) I really like the look of the KS14 but it's pretty expensive for such a low range. I know they offer the bigger battery ones but, don't want to spend $800 on my first EU I did not see any reviews on the IPS131 or IPS Zero in the review section on the forums. Does max power output matter? I see that the IPS131 and IPSZero has a max output of 800W and the KS14 has max of 3000W (seems high?) but not sure how much that really matters. Any information, suggestions, details, etc would be GREATLY appreciated. I want to make sure I'm spending the money in the right place when we are talking about 100s. I want to make sure I'm spending the money in the right place when we are talking about 100s.For the range you're asking you won't need any special considerations on battery, though many people prefer larger batteries so they can go for long rides if they feel like it.Bump handling is improved through power output and wheel size, though honestly the power figures listed are generally all crazy and inaccurate or dependent on how they measured/calculated the number so it comes down to reading reviews/subjective comparisons between wheels. 14" wheel can handle most stuff without too much issue so I wouldn't worry too much about the wheel size, especially for short distances like yours.IPS Zero has no reviews because nobody has received theirs yet (I think) due to multiple delays in release/shipping. For King Song, although the new 800W model is generally recognized as "the bee's knees", the older 500W models are still quite good and depending on battery size I think the prices go as cheap as $600 ish including shipping. Now specifically for the links you asked about:Keep in mind that the prices from electricunicycleonline.com are *without shipping* which will add maybe $200 to the final cost, whereas electricunicyclereviews.com *includes shipping* in prices. So those actually all three that you linked will cost about $500-600 in the end. Personally I would probably recommend the King Song just because I have tried the 340Wh version and know it's pretty decent. IPS Zero would be my second preference, however I would not buy from electricunicycleonline.com as they are a bit of a shady seller and almost definitely don't have it in stock (they'll probably sell it to you and just not ship it for months). And IPS130+ would be my last choice because it's an older model, but probably more readily available than the Zero.

I've actually been in contact with the sales rep from www.ipselectricunicycle.com. He quoted me $560 for the 260Wh (800 Watt motor) IPS Zero with shipping and $660 for the 340Wh (1000 Watt motor) IPS Zero. He claims it will be at my door in 5 days.It seems I can get the King Song 340Wh for $790 with shipping; not sure on shipping timeframe. Do you still think the KS 340Wh is a better buy than the IPS Zero 340Wh?

By the same token, I would be skeptical of any quoted delivery date until people start receiving theirs, as they have promised several delivery dates and then pushed them back time and again.@Chrispy have you received yours yet? Samkyo Scooter
Buy it from China and you can get a lower price , but have to wait a long time delivery, mostly with 5-8 working days.Hope this could help you. Gimlet
Depending on your weight and the terrain you intend to cover the big batteries can be very necessary to maintain the high speed for anything more than a few minutes.Granted big batteries make the wheel expensive but without them for me at least at 90kg in a very hilly area the wheel would be useless.Importing is fine if you intend to have more than one but remember returns aren't practical so you will have to wait for replacement parts and fit them yourself when things go wrong so if you have a more local supplier it will be more convenient in the long run.
