Guest PogArt Artur
I'm after work, and just starting my holiday... I think this extra welcomed resting time has triggered my brain, to think how to improve the trolley stand. It's obvious to me,that the length of the original stand is too short, and the wheel's too heavy, so supporting area of the stand needs to be extended,to support parked up wheel better. I've found some alum pipe. I did cut the length of 24 cm. I didn't know (how could I?) whether this will be enough or not - I had to start at some point, so that was it , 24 cm I have started playing around with that piece of pipe, trying to find the best edge to fix it. I realised that the best edge to fix the pipe, is the rear edge of the bottom of the trolley handle, that's sticking to the surface when the wheel is parked up. Not having anything else than plastic tie stripes, I've used 6 of them to secure the pipe safely, and I mixed the angles of fitted ties, to secure the pipe as sturdy as possible in the exact chosen position. I am sharing my DIY trolley improved stand, because it's working very well. 1/ The 24cm extension is enough, to improve the standing position of the Z10. 2/ The plastic tie stripes are enough to secure the extension at the place. 3/ The vertical position of the Z10 is much more stable and sufficient. I think, that welding that pipe would be more advantage option to fix it permanently. I think it would require demounting of the trolley handle, due to the high temperature of the welding process. Thanks for watching.
Guest PogArt Artur
U P D A T E -> little improvement to the prototype ... Yesterday I went out for a short ride town and back, so I could test the DIY stand. I found the 3cm at each side is too much, there was some moments I had to put an extra attention not to knocked it off while pushing the wheel... I decided to shorten it, and see if the stability is affected. It is not I can't see much difference regarding the stability of the wheel, when it's on stand. * I have shorten the 24cm pipe down to 19cm, making it nearly equal to the width of the trolley handle. * I've secured it with few more plastic tie stripes - to improve the mounting. * I did add plastic tube at each end, instead of using tie stripe (as I previously did). I will leave it as it is, until I find the way how to improve it even more.
NoRo
Ha! this is cool! this seems to protect it a bit too. I will give it a try ! thanx for sharing !

I'm glad you like it. Remember it's only some idea, and it works on flat level surface only, if you'll try leave your wheel on some little bit inclined flat spot or such - the weight of the wheel will make it fall. Make sure you place the plastic tie stripes at different angles, to pull the "pipe stand" - and make the connection to the trolley handle at different points... Make some tie stripes to pull the stand straight up, and then place some other at the opposite edge of trolley handle, to make them pull the pipe stand at different direction. All above is to bond the pipe to the trolley handle as solid as possible, and not let it slide at all on the connected edge. I used plastic tie stripes because I couodn't figure out anything else, I'm thinking of going locally to the garage, and ask for welding the pipe - this would bond the pipe stand permanently. I tested this stand today. It's ok, it does its job well, it doesn't stick out too much, it's basically unnoticeable, so pushing the wheel is not causing me watching my legs to not knocked the pipe, if you know I mean *Remember - both ends of the pipe must have added those plastic pieces of tubes or anything like this,to make the edge of the pipe EQUAL LEVEL throughout, otherwise you won't achieve proper balance on the stand, because those ends will be lifted 1mm or 2mm above the surface (because of used tie stripes at the middle). NoRo
I have no real problem with ballancing the wheel, but this mod does seem to protect the trolley handle .
