Popular Post Dzlchef
I'm truly @fryman sorry for pain and recovery needed because of this unfortunate accident. You were conquering everything and it sucks that one small miscalculation could be so bad. Wishing you a speedy recovery and tell your wife that I apologize for screwing up your vacation.
Popular Post Kens
For anyone wants to know about what’s happen back there: We are on the two way road leading up to the tunnel when Warren’s pedal hit the curb and he fell down with I think is @Kyle K. We saw Warren wearing that thin rubbery D3O elbow pad like Demon Smartskin X so we guessed that when he fell down the elbow pad stick to the pavement and yank his elbow instead of sliding like with hard plastic. I’m not really sure why his pedal hit the curb but I heard he got a wobble and also the road was narrow with cars keep passing us tightly from the back. Maybe it was miss estimation of the distance between his pedal and the curb? The road then closed for a while until he got taken by paramedic. There were park ranger everywhere in the scene but they were cool about it. Only asking what’s happened and send us off. One of park ranger took a picture of King Song logo of one of the 16S pedal for his report he said (Pictured above). Hopefully it won’t be bad for EUC future image. Have speedy recovery @fryman Edited June 24, 2019 by Kens 7

I'm always thinking if I can walk, I'll not step into an ambulance...Rather, transport myself via Uber, wife's car, friend's car, etc. Ambulance is very expensive compared to Uber. Hopefully insurance will cover it. I remember back in the day in college, they called an ambulance for me when I cut a vein/artery (can't bloody remember 😜) with an exacto knife in class while working on an art project. It was like $500+ back in like 1991! And I easily could have sought another way to the hospital. 😬 Must have been a pretty bad injury to warrant an ambulance ride...Hope you heal up well and fast @fryman

Apparently this was not a "simple" fracture break of the elbow, but the worst kind.

Yes, accident can happen at anytime unfortunately it happens for this ride @Dzlchef I don’t blame you for this ride everyone seems to enjoying themselves but, I do blame you for giving him a slow wheel. LOL .Warren just trying to keep up with the big boyz like M22 and the Nikola. No, joking like I said accident can happen at anytime. I speak for myself I had fun I like to ride. Thanks for the invitation. Let’s not this unfortunate accident be a downer. Let’s do this again. Edited June 24, 2019 by M22

His elbow requires surgery. 3 hours ago, M22 said: First of Warren, you recover soon okay. We’ll do this again. I set him up on the same wheel he’s used to riding so I feel okay that I didn’t set him up for failure but I don’t think I’m organizing any group rides for a while. I’ll ride with others and small groups but my event planning days are suspended. If anybody was going down yesterday my money would have been on me and the Nikola. Wish it would have been for Warren’s sake, since I had better armor. 3

Popular Post The Man
I didn’t make it into the photos. I split off when the group went off road. As a transportation commissioner, I am on the hook right now to create local regulations for motorized personal mobility devices. Sticking to the rules - or fixing them - is kind of my jam, but I was glad to experience some of a group ride anyway. I’ll be sure let you all know if Sunday’s incident leads to any policy changes in the park. 3

Popular Post Dzlchef
Warren let me know that his surgery is planned for this evening. Can't believe it's taken this long for them to fix his elbow, poor guy! I truly feel bad that his SoCal vacation is being spent in a hospital bed. He does look happy in the pictures though! 6

Dzlchef
Warren's injury was worse than originally thought and took 4 hours of surgery. I don't have any additional details but at least they finally worked on putting him back together!

Sure hope he has a fully working arm when all is said and done. litewave
@fryman and I rode together often last year. He's a very cautious and capable rider, and I miss the many long rides and fun times we had together. I've been in contact with him as well and passed along all the terrific support everyone has shown. I'm sure he'll be back to the forum to claim bragging rights when he's home and able to type at a real keyboard. 2

litewave
9 hours ago, Marty Backe said: Remind me, where exactly is Tazmantia again Short Answer: it's where all the Tazes live, of course. Scientific answer: Mcloughlin, Stephen. (2001). The breakup history of Gondwana and its impact on pre-Cenozoic floristic provincialism. Australian Journal of Botany. 49. p280. 10.1071/BT00023. Some (er, just one that I know of) people believe the continent of Zealandia or Tasmantia is where all the handsome devils (Taz) live. They are believed to be distant cousins of the endangered Tasmanian devil which have become trapped on the Australian continent in the Australian island state of Tasmania. Tazes are far more evolved, walk upright, and ride EUCs. Edited June 29, 2019 by litewave
