Most people are hard-core conformists.  Why are you still surprised?  It isn't healthy to get bothered by it.

It bugs me how these hearings, rules, laws (oh my) have us on the defensive. I'm not seeing too many counters, or comparisons (is: auto's built and enabled to go way faster than the law allows). I'm sure there are valiant battles going on though. For now, many of us are outlaws regardless. Let's embrace it untill...

Also have to admit, it's a "rush" completing a successful ride and not getting burned for it.    My 2¢

Lenin called them “useful idiots”. Then when he got what he wanted he sent them to gulags to die. Can’t say he was wrong...they truly are stupid and only harm society with thier stupidness.

You made me curious, what did you mean by this?

@PogArt Artur have a thread about him living next to a police station and EUC riding is a little risky in the UK.

So I rode at lower than walking speed trying not to bring on attention upon myself from any officer in the area. Ther was a lot of officers in and out their cars. And I didn't know what all the fuss was about.

And this at a random Sunday night.

So I went to Denmark today and bsck to Sweden again.

Comming bsck at nightfall around 23:40. I hot lost as I really don't ride much in central Gothenburg. It eventually ended up with me riding the the main party street.....

Right into the arms of 1 unmarked police car, 1 mc officer and 2 police vans and some normal police cars I think I counted like 3-4. And I immediately think ohh crap I am now double f...either something bad is going on and I am in the middel of it all or some officer will find time to entertain himself investigating what I am riding.

Luckely I were getting some direction from google maps in my helmet so I slowly crawled out of it all. You inspired me @PogArt Artur 😉

I really dislike riding nights afterajor rainfall, as you get water pools every where and you can't ser through the surface if there isud or a huge pot hole underneath.

I did manage to come home unscaved, with a fully loaded backpack and a sportbag over the side.

Dear friend, I'm happy you got away of those cops around you :)

I'm commuting daily, two times per day riding through the town centre, where's many cops, police cars etc., :)

Today was quiet, but yesterday past me multiple road traffic police cars, there and back, there and back... while I were going my way on pavement :)

In my case I could't do nothing if they'd try to stop me :)

Where would I go? :)

They left me alone, I guess this is how it is...

I'm wearing high vis jacket all the time, and white helmet will be delivered soon, so regarding safety - I might tick the box for them, lol :)

Anyway you've said - I did inspired you..?

May I ask how, please? :)

I'm curious what you've ment :)

Oh, I've just noticed you've explained your thoughts :)

You did well, lol :)

In my case (yesterday) I even hadn't clue of those police cars coming, because they were passing me from behind too, so I couldn't see them following me, lol :)

If they did want stop me , they had a plenty of occasions to do it, but they haven't , so I think I'm not criminal for them :)

It's simply for me, no runs away or hiding, because there's so many of them around the town, and I can't play seek and hide every day, can I?

Some other day I met police officer on the pavement next to the Police Building...

What else could I do, than following my way?

We've just past each other... as I do common pedestrian, that's it.

Best regards @Unventor :)

I hope the solution to the situation with the law in Denmark and somewhat Sweden, that they go down the licence need to go above 20kmh. That they set a bikelave speedlimit that apply to all in that lane so everyone move along at same speed, nof having people blasting past at double speed in a congested lane.

And that the make licence plate similar to how they have in Holland.

I understand that people in US have different opinions. But to allow the EUC to be part of traffic it makes sense there are laws to regulate EUCs too.

I bought my EUC for 3 reasons.

A)  To have an alternative to my car due to traffic is getting rediculous in Gothenburg. Parking is expensive and getting more impossible too.

B) I use my wheel as a form of training. Yes I could go to a gym, but the EUC riding works a lot better for me. And I get out more now.

C) After using my EUC wheel more I actually have become more environment aware. It even influence my shopping. As I only buy what I need as I  can only carry so much in a backpack. And since I buy more locally also I don't take up space in traffic with the car. Doing my part to avoid traffic jams expelling exhaust gasses into the city and air.

As a bonus I 95% of the time meet people that are happy and bring a smile to them as people don't know of EUC in general. In the world we live in these days, I can only say it makes my day if I can make someone smile if only for 30min. Peopel are far too stressed, angry and living in their own mind, not taking considerations to others. It is not at all like when I grew up in 1970s and 1980s.

Btw @Henrik Olsen feel free to use my above arguments if you like in your appeal to DK government.

I like your words very much.

Especially when you've mention training (keep fit).

I used to jogging, walking and long ago cycling too.

Walking to work (4miles) takes me 55min, very boring exercise :(

I was jogging only back home, as I wasn't fancy having shower at work at all (walking wasn't making me sweat as much, so no need for the shower).

But, after full duty hours of driving buses, I was simply tired at the end, very often the jogging itself wasn't enjoyable at all, but forcing myself instead...

The EUC is doing that job perfectly so far!

It's connected 3 in 1 ...

Cycling, walking, jogging => EUC commuting BOTH WAYS !

Less than 30min safe riding one way, enjoyable, challengable , fun and exercise!

It's not comparable to walking, nor jogging, but it is exercise for sure!

It's the best ever commuting option for me so far  :)

Make your mind up - first you call us socialists scum then you agree with Lenin.

I’m saying Lenin saw them as stupid and got rid of them because now they were no use once he had the power. And because they were stupid they went along with it and were killed. Make sense?

It seems to me the problem isn’t with the speed limit, its with how much speed your EUC produces. Forcing you to buy a underpowered EUC in order to be legal. That would make any EUC rider very upset. Underpowered = Face-plant...not good.

That is exactly the problem in a nutshell, we don’t mind the speed limit even if it could be higher and aligned with Electric Bikes

So sad Henrik. I hope maybe the police won't enforce the new rules.

Good luck with your efforts in changing the new rules

P.s. The sound is great. That's what I do with all my videos. FYI, I bought some Dog Training Clickers that I use to facilitate synchronizing the sound in post.

You should understand though that a speed limit does not determine the power of an EUC. Speed and power are different specifications. While limited power does limit the speed, it is not the other way around: limited speed does not limit the power of an EUC. That is, legislation that limits the speed of EUCs does not force manufacturers or customers to sell or buy EUCs that are "underpowered".

However, insulting inhuman, illiberal, bad or whatsover groups/political movements like insulting every other group is against the forum rules (hate speech)- although in the first case they most probably will not be enforced

Everything is hate speech nowadays

Maybe....

But back to topic. I hope the EUC riders of Denmark can lobby enough to let people enjoy their wheels now and in future.

And that the current suggestion do not become inspiration for other countries.

I think most of us on this forum can vote aye that learning EUC riding bought a lifechanging event to their life, a possitive change.

The speed limit on electric light vehicles has been 20 Km/h in Norway for a while now. But I rarely see people actually caring, if they got their own gear. If I see police, I drive slowly, if it's crowded, I drive carefully and slowly. It's all a bit hysterical from the governments side, sure, but it's not the end of the world.

Ditto, never had a problem with the local regulations. Not downtown, nor in the suburbs.

It is the same in Sweden...so far. But that not the point pf what @Henrik Olsen is talking about.

It was so in Denmark to...but if this new law proposal is passed. It not the case anymore. And I fully understand why @Henrik Olsen and other EUC riders are upset.
