LOCATION: Edited to remove locational information due to the boards insistence on revealing who is riding illegally

DATE: Feb 3

TIME: afternoon

WEATHER: cold, windy bright 5/6*c

DISTANCE TRAVELED: est. 20km

WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: ks16s 840

WHO WAS WITH ME: just me.......and my shadow

TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: est 1570km

BEST FEATURE(S) OF THE RIDE: seeing dozens of swans on the water,  enjoying the river views from the numerous bridges, standing on the ruins of XXX castle  (built after 1100 by XXX) and reading about its siege and destruction in the year XXXX), discovering that XXX has been settled for over 3,000 years (Iron age)

WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Discovering that the waterside parks and paths of XXX can be ridden in 10 minutes tops.  I'll Google it again to see if I missed something. Leaving my grocery shopping too late (4pm) so couldn't stock up adequately for the Super Bowl

RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS:  Riding beside deep water without walls or fences, can be hazardous to your wheel if you have an off.  Proceed at your own risk.

LOCATION: Kallang/Marina Bay/Marina South, Singapore (https://www.relive.cc/view/2124172314)

WEATHER: Fair and windy, ~27C

DISTANCE TRAVELED: 16km

WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: InMotion V5F

WHO WAS WITH ME: The wind

TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: ~30km

BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Honestly, the wheel. It was such a brilliant thing to ride. But also, randomly meeting another EUC rider in the wild on his commute home.

WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: A usual route being closed off for Lunar New Year carnival; no biggie though. It was just such a fun and good ride that there's not anything bad to say about it at all ^_^

RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: There are water coolers at a really sensible stop point along this route (Marina Barrage), so yay.

RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: Dress for the season, better to be a bit too warm, than too cold

I can't believe no one has a ride they wish to share.  Here's my wrap up of my week.

LOCATION: The pavement around the green just outside my front door

DATE: last week a couple of times

TIME: various

WEATHER: cold but not @winterwheel or Finland cold

DISTANCE TRAVELED: negliable

WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: KS16s

WHO WAS WITH ME: My thoughts

TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: est 1575km

BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: didn't have to drive anywhere to ride

WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: didn't go anywhere interesting

RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: Nothing.  the wind has been too high at the end of the week, to ride safely beside unprotected water (my local scenic option) so a little "other foot" start practice was my best option.  Hey! I'm getting better. This afternoon was doable when the rain stopped, but then the England France rugby was scheduled, so there went the day.

WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: KS16S

WHO WAS WITH ME: me myself and I

TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: About 1350km

Best feature of all, meeting this guy:

IMG_2336IMG_2338

He's a European Eagle Owl, the largest and most powerful Owl apparently.  He's about 18 to 20" tall.I was wheeling past concentrating on some slick mud under wheel, with my headphones partially off, listening for low battery beeps when I heard this deep WHOO WHOO WHOOOOO. I stopped and looked around and saw this guy staring at me from about 6 feet away.  So glad I was able to hear him, or I would have missed him completely.

LOCATION:Edited to remove locational information due to the boards insistence on revealing who is riding illegally

DATE: Fri 15th

TIME: Afternoon

WEATHER: sunny, light breeze 14deg C

DISTANCE TRAVELED: est 10 miles

WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: KS16s

WHO WAS WITH ME: Mrs I. Pod

TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: About 1380km

BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: sitting on a bench in the sun, nice tunes from my headphones, enjoying the view of the river, having a reason to be out in the lovely weather

WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Young boy who cut suddenly across my (empty) path for no apparent reason  other than his parents yelled (from a distance) "keep to the side".  He was already at the side, decided to cross to the other side, MY SIDE! GRRRR!

RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: When riding for pleasure the temptation is to ride. ride, ride, ride.  But you see more if you pick a nice spot and give yourself time to take in the view. these EUCs add a dimension to our lives, don' forget to embrace ALL that entails.

Riding with music really enhances my rides by a factor of 4.  If I forget my headphones, or iPod, it's hugely disappointing. (I rarely ride in traffic)
