It's an exhausting experience for me compared to mten3 or MCM5. Put it another way: on the mten3 and MCM5, you can carve uphill with ease. On the 16X, at least for me, it feels like I'm crawling when I'm literally on my tippy toes (nothing else touching the pedal besides the balls of my feet, and my legs gripping the wheel for support as I michael jackson lean forward). Same here. I thought that was my imagination but was reserving judgement. The KS16X appears to be lacking adequate torque for overcoming high % grades but I’ll need a few more outings before I can definitively make that statement. 1

The odd part is, if you have enough starting momentum (straight to uphill), it seems to handle hills fine. Thus, I feel this is a firmware/controller throttling issue.

Can some other confirm that? If this is true, what can the reason for that? I ordered the 16X to drive it offroad and of course also extreme slopes where my V8 fails. Have a look here about 2:30ish in the clip. I have no idea what they're saying but it sound like Polish or Russian to me. It is starting from flat ground though.

This boring wheel is worth at most $800 to me. If I wanted something so conservatively tuned and boring, I would’ve just went with a class 1 electric bicycle. Yes, class 1, not class 2 - that’s how underpowered this wheel feels. I like the idea of a 3” tire. What I don’t like is how we were duped with a rock hard tire. Talk about nonsense... Come back when you have faceplanted at 40+ miles per hour and tell us how much you love the wheel that allow you to defeat the safety so you can put yourself and everyone else around you at risk. I still think it is insane that GW allows you to remove the safety and rely solely on hearing some arbitrary beep that they know can't be heard at 35mph+. If you are serious about the $800 then you would have put your wheel up for $1900. I will gladly buy the wheel from you for $800. I don't even mind the gyro fell anymore.

SMH, i guess you don't understand you cannot compare a 10" or 14" with a 17". Just like you cannot compare a 17" with the GW MSX, 19". Tell me about it when you have tried the same with the MSX. or Monster, 22". You sound like a noob who hasn't tried and figured out that different wheels are meant for different things. try a true 16" vs the 17" vs 18" wheels, you will also see a difference going up hill. the watts matters less than the size of the wheel. 7

I'm riding mine like my city motorcycle in the road everywhere I go as long as the speed limit is 30mph and under. I'm thankful its stable enough to comfortably do this in a sustained manner. Also it has plenty of power to swiftly accelerate up to speed as well as climb every hill I've put it up against. I'm going to hit 400 miles of riding today on my 16X and its been an amazing first week! I just read one person that said it was boring. He did it more for dramatic effect and even offered up the wheel is worth $800 when he is selling if for $1900. The wheel is definitely not boring. I think there are some expectations that he had that were not met. ridiculous to compare a 14" with 17". So far after the initial shock of the gyro effect, the wheel has been great. I just need to get over the 201km so I can unlock it. My cruising speed is 45km anyway so it fits me perfectly. I also like the extra kick it has over the 18/19" wheels. If you are not looking for max speed at the risk of your health an those around you then this wheel is great! better sound, handle, lights, and absorption. 8
Popular Post meepmeepmayer
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one wanting a wheel with reasonably big diameter yet insane starting and low-speed torque. But that's just unrealistic to expect at this stage of EUC development. You'd need stronger hardware for that, and the battery usage would increase brutally - you're fighting physics after all. Yet, the real limitation is not the 16X (or any other wheel) but the ergonomy of how easily you can tilt it. Grab the 16X with your legs and see what it can do. Just be careful so you don't blow a fuse and faceplant.

Unventor
@eddiemoy when I read your posts it sounds to me that you are slowly warming up to liking the KS16X. Be interesting to see if those bits you don't like is ironed out by KS with firmware. 1

Be interesting to see if those bits you don't like is ironed out by KS with firmware. Yes after a few days, got used to the gryo or developed a technique to counteract that so I don't really feel it anymore. The gyro feeling isn't firmware, it is totally tire related. The oscillation is firmware related, but I haven't unlocked the wheel yet to get those speed where the oscillation was happening like in the demo wheel. I'm pretty sure they can fix it in firmware. It is just the way they control the PWM. I definitely get up to speed much much quicker in the 16X than on the 18XL/L. Most annoying thing right now is hitting the tiltback since before 201km, limited to 40km/h as you know with all 18" KS wheels. Oddly, sometimes I like the gyro now at higher speeds. Makes the wheel more stable. Will let know how I like it in another few days. For now I don't mind the new tire anymore. Might not even go through the trouble of replacing it with the CST.

BleepBloopBlop
@eddiemoy, Play around with the speed settings a bit. I was able to tinker with it and get it to save at 50kph 3rd alarm & tiltback out of the box. The 16X charger is definitely wider than the GW version I have ( currently at home). This charger’s width is 8 1/2” (21.5 cm). It does have a factory USB type (Lenovo) type plug - not an adapter.
